WMU--Wassink 59.3 (63.0)
NIU--Santacaterina 55.5 (46.4)
I hope the announcers covering this year's WMU-NIU game do a lot of tongue and mouth exercises before the game having to say those two names repeatedly!
A little O.T.,but a week or so ago,WFAN had Phil Sims on with Boomer Esiason.

Esiason was talking about how much prep time Sims puts in to make sure he pronounces players' names correctly.
As someone who has a last name that is rather simple but often mispronounced I really appreciate that!

Drew Keszei, 2017 recruit. What is the word on how he is looking running the Scout Offense?

Looking at the media guide this am. Kareem Wilson scored 14 touchdowns in 1996. Looks like Rourke has a legit shot to have the most rushing TD's by a QB in Ohio history. Kalvin scored 20 in 07 and is the all-time leader.

I didn't think we were gonna get this good of QB play. Definitely the best part of this season so far for me, especially considering we got him for two years and then the kid from Erie coming in mixed with the freshman on the bench. Never thought I'd say this, but I am optimistic at a position that for us has recently doomed us from getting over the top.

Wow....just sitting back thinking about the Tennessee, WMU, and Troy games.....If we had Rourke, I honestly think we would have won...

I agree. Rourke and a little bit of an offensive line push would have won that game. Windham gave it his all though.

Anyone think there is a chance Burrow transfers to OU if Ohio State sticks with Haskins as the backup? And seems to favor him to start next year? I think Burrow is better but since he hurt his hand he dropped on the depth chart.

Burrow I feel is the real deal and would be absolutely great here and play himself into the NFL he has all the tools to be great.

Just throwing this out there..I personally would LOVE to see him come home to Athens and lead OU.

You need to wake up and let it go. He's an Ohio State Buckeye. We have the best quarterback that we have had in a long time, maybe ever. Quit worrying about a player who chose a different school.

And tell Rourke, "Thanks, but no thanks"

And Keszei too.

No thanks.

He made his choice. Knew the possible consequences of playing at O$U. Feel bad injury may have cost him, but Ohio is actually set at QB for a few years. No need to screw with that

And I hear Malik Zaire is on campus right now, just waiting for those credits to transfer so he can suit up for us in the stretch run.

How else would he get to the NFL? Ha!

I would take Burrow in a heartbeat. Haskins probably has one of the best arms in college and pro football. Burrow can run any offense. He is Rourke with more speed in my opinion.

The path he chose doesn't seem likely to get him there. He's appeared in one game, and was 9-17 against Michigan, in the first game of the year. It seems that Freshman Feleipe Franks has won the starting job, and Junior Luke Del Rio is the backup.

Regarding Burrow: Isn't a wildcard here that his dad is a coach? That certainly could lend more of a chance than him having no connection whatsoever to this school. While there's still little chance, I wouldn't peg this at the same slim level as a random QB prospect looking to transfer out of a major school to somewhere he could play.

I know...was making light of the comments earlier this summer that people thought he would choose Ohio as a guaranteed path to greatness & the NFL

I know. I was just giving an update on his "progress".

I do think it would have been wiser for him to pick a G5 school with no QB than a P5 school. I also think it would have been MUCH wiser for him to arrive at his chosen school in the Spring, rather than trying to appear in the Fall and earn a start with no prior experience with the offense. Rourke was able to earn the top spot as quickly as he did precisely because he was here in the Spring.

Edit - Apparently Luke Del Rio is out for the year with a shoulder injury, and QB Kyle Trask is out indefinitely. Zaire is now the backup, so he may get more PT before the season is over.

Agree on Zaire nonsense. He was arrogant and not-so-smart choosing to arrive in the fall and just think he'll walk into a spot. Poor judgment on his part

Man, it would have been fun to have the local stud in an OHIO uniform. I think Peden would be overflowing. But, I see Youngstown State in his future.

Even though Maxwell is listed as bigger than Rourke (6-3, 224 vs 6-2, 209), Rourke just seems to play bigger. Maybe he was a lumberjack in Canada (and that's okay).
Because he sleeps all night and he works all day? Man, we're slipping around here...can't believe that one sat out there for that long...

Scouts had Burrow as the number 11 QB for the 2020 Draft, going into this year. Some likened him to Trubisky, just imagine if he got playing time. At Ohio, he could have walked into a starting role and who knows what might have been after that. Zaire looked good against Michigan, but he might be a headcase. He was the only one moving the ball in that game. He went big, now he will be an NFL tryout at best. Always go where you can play and develop.
