After last night's game I got to thinking what game I'd have to go back to as far as playing a complete game in all phases (except for the early turnovers)against a quality team comparable to last night. My mind went back and stopped at the Penn State game in 2012. And there were extenuating circumstances for Penn State then.

+1.

My girlfriend asked me why I was taking shots after each Ohio TD. My response was it worked in 2012 for the PSU game.

While the Penn State game is a sweet memory, it was a great victory over a weakened opponent. I would go with the 2012 Independence Bowl, and how we rolled UL-M, who had a very good D and held a very good QB, Kolton Browning, in check all day long.

You have to include the 44-7 win over Marshall on this list.

That's a good one. That's the last time Ohio absolutely blew out an opponent it probably was not favored against. The 2011 game against Marshall comes to mind also as one in which Ohio dominated when I was a little unsure of what would happen.

Hmmmm... could it have something to do with wearing the Blackshirts? Has a Nebraska defense link as well as the the first time OHIO wore them was the Marshall beat down.

Thing is... all these wins were out of conference.

This strikes me as the first definitive win over a MAC elite.

The 2015 win at NIU was pretty darn impressive. That NIU team was undefeated at home and had recently beat a ranked Toledo team and only lost 20-13 to #1 Ohio State.

Last year's win at Toledo was also quite impressive. Toledo at that time was undefeated in the conference.

Neither of those games were a blowout like last night, though. That's the difference. Those two games, it felt like breaks went our way and we were able to come out on top when the clock ran out. Last night, the more dominant team definitely won. I think Toledo left shell-shocked.

What surprised me was how not conservative our game plan was, especially on defense. The number of different looks was interesting, figuring that we will likely play that same team next month. However, I loved it, as I think Woodside was lost all night.

Gotta go back to two of the most memorable games THAT have I've attended: The Cat's 44-7 thorough thrashing of Marshall on 9/17/11 and the Big win over Penn State. Will never forget these two along with others including tonight's Big Win.

Agree with that, Doc, but for complete domination in a game that was supposed to a very tough one, I go back to 1960, and the 48-6 rout of Southern Illinois. Don't know what they officially listed as the attendance for that game, but there were literally folks hanging off the sides of the stadium. It was several thousand more than the capacity of the stadium, and no one left at halftime. It was like last night, thorough domination by OHIO in a game that was billed as a very tough challenge.

How about the 2006 upset win over NIU where we were all surprised by Ohio defeating NIU, much less defeating them by 35-23? It's true that NIU only finished 3rd in the West that year, but they did beat conference champion CMU 31-10.

Then there was 2009, 6-1 Ohio faced 7-0 Temple, and crushed them 35-17:

These are the two I was thinking of also. Or BG in 2009.

While PSU was not at the level they are now, They were a good team in 2012. they Finished 8-4 with the only other losses were to ranked OSU and Nebraska teams and a one point loss at UVA.

I'll take kicking Miami's like a tied up goat 10 times (and throw in Marshall and Temple beat downs)!

We had too many turnovers to call it one of our best performances, it was definitely one of our most dominant performances against a top tier MAC team. It kind of reminds me of that Temple game.
