So here's a fun little thing I've been following at reddit.com/r/cfb...

https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/72bsri/college_foot... /

The basic idea is that each team is given a portion of land to start the season. If you lose, the team that beat you gets your land. If you beat a team with land, you get their land. If you beat a team with no land, nothing happens.

We started off owning SE Ohio. The loss to Purdue ceded control of that to the Boilermakers, whose loss to Michigan ceded control to the Wolverines.

Kansas was without land when we beat them, so we got nothing. But since EMU owned most of the Mitten's Thumb and Charlotte, our win in Ypsi puts us back on the map with 2 territories controlled.

No one remaining on our schedule controls any territory right now. I haven't looked to see how many (if any) MAC teams have games against teams with territory, so our ability to pick up additional land is in question.

But as it stands today, we are the only landed gentry in the MAC.

Fun map. The wrong OU has dominance over the state...

Looks like Fiami vs Notre Dame this weekend is the last chance for the conference to pick up any more territory. If we take care of business vs. UMass, the MAC will fight over two portions we currently control.

In addition to SE Ohio, which Michigan won by beating Purdue, Michigan also has control over SW Ohio by beating Cincinnati. While a 2-1 trade may seem like a tough deal to pull off, is there any plot of land more valuable to Michigan than the Detroit TV market which we now control? This is Duane Nellis' prime opportunity show why he was hired as Ohio University's new President.

But wait! There's more. Our other asset acquired from the EMU win is Charlotte. The Charlotte territory borders Clemson's homeland. Clemson is one of the richer schools in the land... They picked up a good chunk of Northeastern Ohio (including Cleveland) with their win over Kent State. A 1-1 swap with Clemson is mutually advantageous for both Ohio and Michigan.

With some savvy deal-making we could be in control of the bulk of Ohio. I'm legitimately excited about this possibility.

I'm not normally a fan of trades to dump salary, but perhaps we can unload JGuy's contract to Michigan or Clemson in those trades.

The win over Toledo means we get back the land we lost to CMU!

I really hope we get a bowl opponent with some solid plots of land.

Beware of demogorgons while out acquiring lands!

What about the Bahamas Bowl? A win there would score some unchallenged dominion for at least a year?! Probably not eligible.

Link to latest map. Doesn't take into account our win over Toledo yet.
