From what I have read and seen it doesn't appear that our new president is not as engaged in promoting our athletic programs.
As recently as this week, when I received his presidential address in the mail I did not see any reference to our athletic programs.
I am certainly concerned as the budgeting process moves forward for next year to see the impact on the athletic funding.

He has been quoted more than once that a "strong athletic department can serve as a positive front porch" to the university. He hosted a large gathering of guests at the Toledo game and he was heard voicing his support for Ohio athletics.
Will he be as visable at Rod McD ?? He was at the first basketball game, always a good sign!

He was also at a volleyball game and briefly at a soccer match.

From what I've read he is less interested in the physical plant of the university as Glidden and McDavis was and more interested in proving relations with the community and leaving the trajectory of the current plans in place. Don't expect another victory with honor campaign outlining new facility improvements anytime soon.

I’d like to see the academic rankings improved along with athletics

Personally I'm not worried. I get it, McDavis will be a tough act to follow in regards to athletics. Always did appreciate talking with him in the class and in the athletic department. But at the same time I gotta let this university president get situated before I cast stones. First things first, gotta get academics in a row first, then athletics.

Was that our president giving Saul a congratulatory hug after the 4 OT win today?

Don't think the president made the trip. Was probably his dad.
