Still processing what I witnessed tonight. The first half we give a ten yard cushion to Zips receivers and make a freshman QB with 2 starts look like he belongs in the pro bowl. In the span of 1 week I believe that I saw the best and worst performances of the Bobcats for the 2017 season. This team is so talented as compared to years past yet we still have to shoot ourselves in the foot prior to wrapping up a championship season. I still believe that Solich and his staff have built a great program. Without them, I do not believe my expectations would be so high. Should we have gone for it on 4th and one at the goal line......hell yes. The players must also hold up their end. The pass defense, and the inability to pressure and wrap up a rookie quarterback, and the ill timed turnovers were too much to overcome. I still believe that Nathan Rourke is the most talented QB to wear the green and white and our defense when focused, can stop anyone in our conference. I will continue to support this team and hope for the best regarding the MACC.

There was only one quarterback on the field tonight capable of passing the ball for s**t and he wasn't wearing green.

The one in green or white hasn't thrown the ball well for a few weeks now. His legs are far more valuable than his arm.
Awful decision on the second interception.

The offense, despite 3 turnovers, I think played well enough and scored enough to provide a victory. However on that final possession with a chance to score to take the lead (and likely win since Akron had little offense in half two) had about the worst sequence of calls for that situation you could come up with. Championship game berth on the line, chance to win the game, and what, two straight AJUTM? WTH? That 4th down pass to Papi was horrible, too. A time that some creativity was needed to keep the season alive and that's the best Albin had? Sadly I was not/am not surprised. The interior of that Akron d-line was giving little all night so lets run right at them when the game is on the line.

I peg this those much more on the defense, however. The offense did no favors with the turnovers but to get shredded against a RS sophomore making only his second start (who looked like a deer in headlights last week in Oxford). I hope that whatever was more important than playing lights out on defense was worth it to them. I don't believe it that they played with full hearts. Akron did seem to gameplan to not let the QB overthink things and that wet paper bag squad in green obliged perfectly.

I just don't see Zippy losing to Kent State next week. Buffalo will want to get their licks in on the Bobcats, too.

All of the great wins, big stats etc. put up by Rourke etc. and it will likely end up in some middling bowl game because the team couldn't find the will to win with everything on the table.

After watching that game last night (and ruminating on it for the last 12 hours), I don't think there is any way we beat buffalo IF Akron loses to kent on Tuesday. If the division is on the line, and all we have to do is beat buffalo, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we lose 3-nil, with 19 net offensive yards and 0 completed passes. At the same time, if Akron beats Kent on tuesday, it wouldn't greatly surprise me if we top the famous Georgia Tech (vs Cumberland) score of 1916 against Buffalo, but only if the game doesn't mean anything.
