- Typical FCS game, where it's closer at half than it should be but we win by 3 TDs

Fri, Sep 8 @ Purdon't - Win
Sat, Sep 16 vs Kansasucks - Loss
- We split these 2 games. I'm going with the W at Purdue and L at home vs Kansas because I think Kansas will be ready after last season. If we lose to Purdue, I think we bounce back vs. Kansas.

Sat, Sep 23 @ Large Flightless Bird - Win
- We win the battle but lose the war with 3 starters gone to injury

Sat, Sep 30 @ UMass - Win
- UMass sucks

Sat, Oct 7 vs Chippers - Loss
- Frank can't beat CMU for whatever reason. That trend continues.

Sat, Oct 14 @ BGSUcks - Win
- I'm still not sure Jenks is the guy for BG

- Holley gives us fits again but Kent sucks

- This is the most painful pick, but I think the lack of depth on the lines starts to really show with this game. Miami still sucks though.

Bobcats are close in most losses but a few key injuries prove too much to overcome. A crushing loss to Miami on Halloween starts a late season tailspin where 3 of 4 are dropped. Names like Albin, Burrow and Isphording become common punching bags, with Sano being a scapegoat.

Miami ends the suck fest, goes to Detroit, wins a thrilling MAC title game, and Chuck Martin is hired by someone like Kansas at season's end continuing to stoke our disdain that despite their overall crappy record in the past ten years, they still have two conference championships.

Decent season, but nothing to get too jacked up about. Now go out and prove me wrong, Bobcats. I will gladly eat all of this in November if it's not what I have predicted!

I'm bad at these predictions....so I'm hoping that I'm 10000% wrong on all this too.

I seriously think this team can go 4-0 in non-conference or 1-3. Hard to tell without being able to see where the offense is? Will they line up under center and pound Ouellette/Brown or will Maxwell be in the pistol and we continue to run horizontal passes to Papi White in hopes he breaks one and occasionally hit Cochran deep? Is Maxwell any better than he was last year? If not, I would be less than stunned if we loss to KU, Purdue and UMass.

I think BG will be much improved. Just a hunch. I also think EMU will not be as good as last year ... another hunch. Both are winnable games if we don't start 1-2 or 2-4. If not, I could see both as L's

Before my predictions, I'd like to make a comment about the format. Since the format is W/L on a game by game basis, let's say that you had a ten game schedule, and that you believe a team has a 60% chance of winning each game. In that case, predicting on a game by game basis, you would predict each game as a W in order to have the best chance of getting that right, yet really, you'd expect that they would end up 6-4. Thus, predicting game by game, you get a very different answer (10-0) than you really expect (6-4). If you expected a 40% chance of winning each game, the effect would be the reverse - you'd predict 0-10 when you actually expect 4-6.

I do think that the odds favor Ohio picking up another loss, probably to either BG or EMU, and if I were only predicting a final record, my real expectation is 9-5, though I'm hoping for better.

As the season approaches, the pundits nationwide are making their picks, too. The consensus? In the East, Ohio to edge out Miami for first, and BG to edge out Akron for third, with Kent and Buffalo bringing up the rear. In the West, Toledo is a huge favorite, followed by WMU then NIU, with the bottom half being CMU, EMU, and Ball State in that order:
