Yet another year without a trophy from Detroit. Mediocrity defined.

Akron still has to beat Kent. And their QB just got hurt

A junior high team could beat Kent.

This performance disqualifies us from the MACC.

Atrocious.

Playing like they did tonight, the Bobcats won't be able to beat Buffalo either.

Buffalo, presumably? That's the nature of a zero-sum game, the opponents are usually trying their best to make you lose.

"Mediocrity defined." I don't consider 8 wins mediocre, with an opportunity to get 1 or 2 more. 0-13 may as well been said, "zero titles since 1968." The people that constantly complain about Frank are entitled to their opinions, but when Frank leaves this university, he will have left this football program in far better shape. The tough losses are difficult, especially this season, but I wouldn't trade him for any other league coach. Akron may end up 7-5 and lose in Detroit and drop a bowl game to end the season 7-7. Is that medicore?

Doesn't the quality of the opponents go into play here?

No one is denying Frank hasn’t put the program in WAY better shape than he found it. But this stuff is going to happen any time a program plateaus. Sure, it’s great that the program isn’t on a 40 year long plateau of 3-4 wins anymore, but it has been spinning its wheels for 5 years or so now. Frank raised expectations, and that now includes on himself. So yes, any time you begin to do the same thing year in and year out that becomes the “mediocre” standard.

We lost 3 games this season. Quit acting like we are in such terrible shape.
We are one of the top teams in our conference and will continue to be for as long as we are LUCKY enough to have this coach. Losing sucks, that's part of life.

One to the top teams in the conference that won't be going to the conference title game unless they get lucky. Sounds like par for the course.

Same thing is happening in every conference in the country. Only two teams make it. I wasn't expecting us to win it this year. Like I've said before, 2019 will be our year. I hope some of you don't slit your wrists before then!

Well, uh, yeah. If we let Buffalo start drives on our 26 yard line, 21 yard line, and 24 yard line like we did with Akron, we will have a tough time beating them. Or any other team for that matter.

I don't think we'll turn it over like that and we'll win.

As for 0-13, that sucks for sure. 4 trips to the championship with nothing to show for it is definitely a bummer. Hoping for that Kent State miracle win and a 5th chance....

The MAC is a bad conference, especially the MAC East. Justify it however you want. The fact remains that Ohio's win over Toledo will the be the only win they have all season vs a team with a winning record. Look closer at the records of the teams they beat, then think about the teams they lost to and how those losses happened. Purdue is the only game that went the way it should have this year. In 13 years, Solich-led teams have lost the most important game of each season every single year.

When did you decide 2019 to be the year? As of 7:00 on Tuesday night, all Ohio had to do was beat a bad Akron team to advance to Detroit. Why wait until 2019 when the shot at a title was handed to them this week?

It's the same thing we've been hearing for the past 3 or 4 years. No, this year will be the year. No, really, THIS YEAR will be the year.
