Ohio is clearly better than the rest of the MAC East. No question about it. Who from the East is going to prevent Ohio from going to the MACC yet again? Hell, 4 of the 6 East teams are already 1-2 in MAC play, and Akron simply can't beat Ohio and hasn't done so in a decade. This is going to be a cakewalk for Ohio.

You know we still got Toledo in our other cross-divisional game right? Gotta also assume we're gonna find a way to gift-wrap a potential loss too to someone in our division. Appreciate the enthusiasm, but there is still a race to be run, especially considering we usually have a November swoon that puts us at 7-5

It looks good at this point. But injuries are a great equalizer and have killed us late in past seasons. Hopefully we'll remain healthy enough to continue winning. I particularly hope that Papi White can remain healthy once he returns. The offensive takes on a completely different dimension when he's playing.

I'll make sure to include you on my holiday card list with the same message you gave me, except I will include a middle finger with my message.....

Sorry that I wait until it's clinched, but as stated above, injuries occur frequently and again, our depth chart tends to get dicey in November. So again, I like the optimism, but I ain't holding my breath until the division teams all have 3 losses.

I think I remember OhioBobcat with a similar sort of optimism last year and he wasn't wrong.

We clearly SHOULD win the MAC East. Anything can happen though. See yOU in Detroit! BANG!

Its too early to weigh off how the division race will finish. If we take care of Kent St and Miami as we expect the Toledo game won't be a factor. Its hard to believe only 5 games left in the regular season it feels like it started yesterday. I think the guys will be mentally focused down the stretch taking each game as a one game playoff.

Karma is a real....well I'll let you fill it in. This is painful. I wanted to eat my words on this but I can't.

So do I get to say "we just lost to a division team.....so shut your cake hole?"

There is a slight chance for Detroit. Nelson was hurt at the end of this game and anything can happen in a rivalry tilt. A chance but a slight chance. This team has a good chance of winning 9 or 10 games yet which is a good season I believe.

Who cares about Detroit? Does it mean anything if we somehow back into it now? After all of this? Why play the god damn season if you're just going to shit the bed against god damn Akron? if you're not going to bring your offense, defense or special teams on the trip and let god damn Akron ruin your frigging season.

It's like Kent 2010 all over again. Big win against Temple the week before, don't bother to show up the next week.

I almost want to give Monroe a free pass for tonight. Just let him on here to raise hell for one night.

Now someone grab me my torch and my pitchfork.

Right...because stuff like this this never, ever happens in other programs, like Ohio State (c.f, Penn State and Iowa), right?

I won't speak for everyone, but I think it stings more for me because the opportunities for excitement and celebration are more limited when playing in the MAC. Bowl games are all well and good but really a division title, conference championship game berth, and MACC are as good as it gets in this conference. A team like OSU can have a meltdown against Iowa but still has a chance to play for a national title. Still play in a high profile bowl game etc.

I know there is a ceiling on success being a MAC school and it makes it all the more disappointing when your team cannot even touch that ceiling despite being close several times.

Stupid post of the night. We had a bad half the season is still a successful season and the team has plenty to play for. Its not like we are 5-5 Jesus

They pissed down their leg as 15 point favorites against a 5-5 team playing a backup QB with the league title on the line.

Nope. No big deal.

Those wins over Kent, Miami, Hampton, EMU, UMass, Kansas and BG definitely ease the blow.

Talk about stupid post

Very dissapointing and frustrating loss. We couldn't seem to get that inside running game going in the 2nd half. And Rourke was uncharictaristicly inaccurate on some throws. I actually thought we had a chance to pull it out on the last drive. Of course it shouldn't have come down to a 4th down call. We lost that game when we failed to step on their throats with a 21-10 lead.

The sad part for me is now I have to go back to watching my Browns. The Bobcats offered me the hope of a title game. Not so with my Browns. Oh well. When is the NFL draft?

OUr offense needs 2 healthy running backs.

No Dorian Brown meant no running game in the second half.

Yes, we lost to a 2nd string Quarterback, but this goes back to the Ohio theory..Is he really a 2nd string quarterback, who is caught up in the "start forever loyalty theory" The kid played well....PERIOD....We didn't.... I wouldn't be surprised to see him get Offensive Player Of The Week....Yeah, we down our defense, but in this case, why do we settle for a field goal on 4th and 1 on the goal line? Why did we get away from what we've been doing pretty much the entire season? ROurke is a Quarterback, but clearly has taken on the role of a running back. Once they realized AJ was being shut down, why didn't they use Rourke on the short runs? The opportunity presented itself a couple of times. Where were the option plays that we are used to seeing???? We are beating up on defense a lot, and at times they have deserved it.....but in this case...GEESH....They were put right back on the field after 3 turnovers...."Even a mangy dog gets tired." I wanted to go to the MAC Championship as well, but we're not!!!! I'm still screaming "GO OHIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

In regards to the accuracy of our QB is 54.9% and has had 4 games under 50%. He dazzels with his legs, however, he's far from an effective and accomplished passer. In the past 5 games, he's been over 50% exactly 1 time, so what we saw last night is exactly what we've been seeing along those lines.

Which is why I've gone round-and-round with a lot of folks on this board about crowning him as "Ohio's Greatest QB Ever" like a lot wanted to do after that 6 TD game vs. Miami.

He certainly has potential ... but he is ... as you said ... FAR from polished in all areas.

Last night was perfect example. He wasn't able to consistently get the passing game going. Yes... the play-calling (as usual) handicapped him ... but that was a very disappointing performance thru the air.

In the past 10 years whats our MAC record against winning teams? I would guess 80% of our wins are against teams with losing records.
