There are now 67 teams in and 22 still alive for bowl bids. That’s 89 eams for 78 slots, although some of the “still alive” teams play other “still alive” teams. The list below shows the number of slots for each conference in brackets, the teams that are already in, the teams that are still alive, and the teams that are technically out of the running with seven or more losses (Florida has six losses but plays only 11 games). The conferences account for only 68 of the bowl slots because there are six at-large slots for the New Year's Six bowls and four slots in the playoff. Teams with asterisks play only 11 games.

67+24=91 FWIW, but there looks like quite a few loses for the remaining candidates.

Thanks. Actually, I just noticed that there are only 22 teams still alive for a bid, so that would make 89. I'll make the changes to the chart.

There are four games between 5-6 teams, and either FSU or ULM or both will get their seventh loss, so that brings it down to no more than 84.

The MAC Offices have to be salivating knowing that it has extra teams for bowl slots that can't be filled. The Big 10 will not be able to meet all of its obligations under any circumstance and knowing how the MAC Offices work in regards to bowl games, you better believe I'm confident a couple slots are going to open

Just wondering how excited you fans are about a bowl game. After the Akron debacle, it's hard for me to get up for a long trip, but location, timing and opponent could make a difference to me.
How about you?

I'm excited. I'm assuming we'll handle Buffalo tomorrow. A lot of those bowl games are hovering close to Christmas. I'm going to Chicago w/ my son (an OU senior) for Browns v. Bears game Christmas Eve. Yes, I know, why? We should/would have picked one of those bowls if we gave it more thought. I hope there's an OU friendly bar in the windy city if its 12/20-23. We went to the bowl game in Shreveport a few years ago and had a great time. Better than most NFL experiences.

Oh never mind. Team is limping to finish line. Showed some heart in last two games, but you can't win many games starting like that. Turnovers, as Arkley points out -10 in losses.

I think Central is now the second best team in the league. Good job.

We will be lucky to get 200 fans out to a bowl game. Reward the hard work of the team with a bowl game, but think my $1000 expenses will be better spent elsewhere.

Attendance seems to be trending down lately. The late season spiral should not help. They will hype the offensive resurgence this year and Rourke as a freaky good QB, but the defense "should" take a step back. But, we shall see. Injuries will probably be an issue again. It always seems to be.

I don't think they made a big deal about ticket sales like they have done in the past. Anyway, I think attendance is not doing as well. We're not having 24,000 games any more.
Last year we averaged 21,190. I don't think we had that number for any games this year. I'll check.

Actually Kansas was 22,056 and Central was 23,570.
We averaged 19,405. Down a bunch.

It is now after the Buffalo game. I can officially say I’m not really too interested in any bowl game with this team. I will watch it on TV but I’m certainly not about to travel anywhere. Just another year gone by without MACC. I certainly hope we have something to celebrate on the 50th anniversary of the last championship.
