The new montage video on the Ohio website shows Papi catching a pass and a running back plowing through several defenders for a TD. The RB is Maleek Irons. Couldn't they at least get a clip of someone who played this year?

Sometimes I wonder if our own marketing/creative team even follows a season from start to finish. They put out clips from other sports that have kids who graduated 2-3 years prior. Sometimes they seem as clueless as the students who aren't involved

Will Maleek be eligible for the bowl game? The semester is over, and his was an academic suspension, if I recall correctly. IF he got his grades up, he could, I suppose, be technically eligible to play. I don't think there's a red shirt issue, since's already red shirted his freshman year.

He was suspended for the season for a DUI arrest, not academics, as far as I know.

I thought that that was earlier, and that the season suspension was for academics. Does anyone know for sure?

Almost positive that it was a "coaches decision" to suspend Irons.
Wasn't academics based or he wouldn't be eligible to practice .... to my understanding.
He practiced and was with the team all year ... just suspended from playing I believe.

They kind of went together. One often causes the other, and you will not see him in the Bowl.

OK. Thanks. Makes sense.

I think this suspension was in tandem with the Monroe suspension - it was a conspiracy at the highest levels... :)
