So far, looks like App State watched the tape of our game against Toledo for the formula of how to take it to the Rockets. Tough defense and running game.

I want to accuse Toledo of point shaving again......not like it's happened before

Ohio may very well wind up having the only MAC bowl win for the last 2 years.

Is Toledo really this bad or is Appy state just this good?
Makes the MAC look pretty weak.

They ain't that bad . . . they lead Miami (Fl) at half. As sometimes happens in bowl games they look totally out of sync. I agree with the observation that their staff viewed our tape and discovered some of UT's weaknesses. I noticed in the first half a lot of option plays that look like things we run. Also, the way they constantly gambled with the blitz.

I would not bet against NIU vs. Duke. NIU played ranked San Diego State very tough, beat a B14 team on the road.

I'm left wondering how OHIO would have done against App State. I think our offense would have performed way better than UT's. But we'll never know.

I agree with much that you say. Bowl games aren’t necessarily an indication of quality of teams.

Re the Miami game,Miami hadn’t played in 3 weeks because of hurricanes and they ended up winning by 3 TD’s. They don’t give out awards for leading at halftime.

After watching Ohio throttle Toledo, I found myself thinking, "Too bad for Toledo that Woodside is a one-dimensional quarterback." Yesterday I found myself thinking the same thing. Both Ohio and App State didn't need to worry about Woodside as a running threat. Swanson shut down by both the Bobcats and Mountaineers.

What's really embarrassing for the MAC is that the two teams that played for the MACC were outscored 84-3 in their bowl games. Sheesh.
