Well, well, well. More movement by the deadline.

One more MAC title and we should look to exit next year. 🙃

Air Force, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Illinois, San Jose State, UNLV, UTEP and Wyoming.

Will be interesting to see how that TV deal stacks up.

Curious why this is being reported as new news when these schools announced months ago they were leaving. I guess you have to put out a second press release to make it "official" official.

What this really tells me is that the mediation taking place between the MW and PAC is not going in the MW's favor. The MW was banking on those exit fees to keep the conference going and also attract new schools (like NIU).

Correct. And it backfired. Who do you think will get the call to move up next? Idaho or Montana/Montana St?

Should we maybe hold out for the ACc or Big12? Just think of the regional rivalry with UC and WVU, who we are already playing!

Right now all eyes are on UNLV. They were thinking of going to the PAC with the rest, but they were convinced to stay by the MW essentially making them the banner program for the conference. If they leave? Oof it's gonna get ugly in a hurry.

Texas State has also been rumored as a candidate for both conferences, but I think they're more of a last case scenario for the PAC if they get to desperation hour of needing that 8th school for full time football membership.

The thing about the Dakota and Montana schools is that if you recruit one, you have to take the other. You're not getting NDSU without SDSU also, or Montana without Montana St.

We need stadium renovations for Big12 so I'll stick with AAC. In all honesty, the 5 schools (OU, Miami, Toledo, BG and Buffalo) should come together to form the Mountain East side of the Mountain West. Would help with NIU, have 6 teams in the region and creates a great dynamic to the conference.

Wouldn't the politicians in northwest Ohio force Kent to be part of that group? Akron is on life support but I don't see leaving Kent behind even as pathetic as they've been recently.

I actually raised this idea with an Ohio AD and was told it had a lot of merit...except for BGSU. "Replace them with Western Michigan and you've got something that makes sense." This input was based on that person's knowledge of the various institutions' long-term commitment to athletics.
