The General Assembly has apparently solved all the major problems in Ohio (e.g., poverty, homelessness, gun violence, domestic violence, food insecurity, bankrupt schools, political corruption,etc.) and has turned its attention to the one remaining issue of greatest importance to Ohioans -- noon starting times for college football games. Rep. "Tex" Fisher of the Youngstown area has introduced a bill that would ban all Ohio colleges from starting home games before "mid-afternoon" which apparently is 3:30 pm. Noon starting times apparently don't let O$U fans get drunk enough outside the Shoe before they go inside and drink for three of four hours. Even though the ban apparently applies to all Ohio colleges, the one exception appears to be for the O$U-Michigan game. It's not mentioned in this article (https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/article/ohio-ge... ) but I've heard that violators -- including schools, conferences and even broadcasters/cablecasters/streamers -- could be fined.

This comes on the heels of last year's bill (that went nowhere) that would have banned flag planting at football games. This latest bill will likely have the same fate, but it's just another example of how our elected representatives waste their time. Your hard-earned tax dollars at work.

I agree - these types of bills are dumb. I can't imagine there's any way this gets traction. It does get his name in the news - but that's about it.

Even if it did come to pass, I doubt it would impact the Bobcats in my lifetime. If I am reading it correctly, it only applies if both teams are in the Top 10 of the AP poll.
