This will not be the last time that this type of situation pops up! It is only the beginning!

We went from the original argument of "these guys need to be able to eat and have some play around money - full cost of tuition" to sitting out of spring practice for contract negotiations in 3.5 years. God the NCAA fumbled this so, so, so, so bad.

NCAA fumbled this 15 years ago and now they can’t govern. Every rule they try to enforce is litigated into oblivion. Need congress to bail them out. Only winners are the lawyers.

I've reluctantly concluded that this will be the only viable solution to the current mess. The government helped create the NCAA, so they bare some culpability. My favorite AI bot put it this way: "The NCAA was formed by colleges and universities in response to safety concerns in college football. Specifically, in 1905, President Theodore Roosevelt convened White House conferences to address injuries and deaths in football, which led to a meeting of 13 colleges to reform playing rules. The Intercollegiate Athletic Association of the United States (IAAUS) was then established in 1906, and it was later renamed the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in 1910."
