I feel like an elitist nebraska football fan when it comes to partying.

National rankings and title game appearences are not enough. National Championship and #1 ranking every year or bust

What steps can be taken to return Ohio to it's rightful place as the nation's best in this category?

You forgot Snyder's second line - 7 MAC championships.

Good point, so to make your comparison apples to apples, the MAC tourney started in '80-81, so you should use regular season championships in FB to pair with Snyder's regular season championships. So Frank has won four east championships ('06, '09. '11, '16) in 13 seasons, roughly on pace to match Snyder in a similar timeline.

You are a piece of work. A division championship is not a conference championship.

It's unbelievable how so many people are not capable of thinking about more than only the last result.

A month ago the football board was burning after we lost to Akron. Now, basketball has ONE disappointing performance (that they still WON) and the sky is falling.

Ohio beat a bad football team by a lot last week and a bad basketball team by a little this week.

Sure, I guess it's official. (sarcasm)
I still agree UAB is a bad team, I was able to watch them in action. Northwestern a .500 team in NAIA isn't the worst team that has played here though. Urbana was the worst. I have seen them several times over the years and the program is terrible even by d2 standards. They were beating Ohio at half though.

And, we've been to the CWS, the equivalent of the basketball Final Four and the College Football Playoff four teams. OHIO has never gotten to this level in any other team sport that Im aware of.

Didn't the football team win a national title in 1960 or so?

I would also guess that we've sent the most players to the professional ranks as well.

Five of Snyder's seven championships came when the MAC only had six or seven members including OHIO, and the MAC East has six members, so all I am relating is that using winning MAC's as a measuring stick against different eras is not equitable.

11% of the games Snyder's Bobcats played were were against members of the Ohio Athletic Conference, and constitute 15% of Snyder's career victories at OHIO. I'm not saying Snyder wasn't a legendary coach at OHIO, just saying that different eras have different yard sticks, understandably so.

Well, sort of, that was during the brief period that OHIO was in the "college division" of the NCAA. Before about 1950 there were no official divisions in the NCAA, and the year after that college division championship OHIO was in the "university division" (now FBS), with the possible exception of one strange year. And, that college division national championship was by poll only, no actual playoff.

Strange that the university has never acknowledged that "national championship" with a banner or some such. Maybe they have and I've missed it, but you would think that would be worth a prominent banner in Peden.

How does a school "officially" become a football school? or basketball school? or party school?

I understand a school "unofficially" claiming to be a football school. Just not sure how it becomes "official".
