Just wondering if any member of the NCAA Selection Committee ever feels a sense of shame for their at-large picks?

When the committee chair explained the selection of Oklahoma, I wonder how many hundreds of thousands of viewers were thinking: What a load of crap?

Result: As in most past years, results so far tend to cast a rather dark cloud over committee members choices. Examples:
* Rhode Island tops Power 6 Oklahoma - now 18-14.
* Nevada comes from 14 down to Power 6 Texas and wins. Texas now 19-15.
* Buffalo thrashes Power 6 Miami.
* Loyola tops Power 6 Tennessee.
* Butler rips Power 6 Arkansas.
* St. Bonnie tops Power 6 UCLA.

One might wonder what would happen during the regular season if Power 6 teams played more neutral court games against the "mids."

Meanwhile Middle Tenn and St. Mary's watch with understandable disgust.

All good points, Mike. Did you mean to post this on the basketball forum?

Yes, within moments of realizing the error of my ways, I copied and pasted it to basketball.

BTW, this a.m. Dick Vitale railed against the selection committee's rewarding "mediocrity" (read OK and TX) and the injustice done to St.Mary's and Middle TN.

This happens every year that mid-majors and upstarts win games with the subsequent hue and cry about the injustice. Then, next year, the NCAA seclection committee goes back to "bidness as usual" and stacks the deck with power 5 teams. As borna mentioned in the other thread, seems like more of them than usual this year.

Dickie V, a one-time head coach at a mid-major, has been rallying behind the mid majors for decades. Nothing, unfortunately, has changed over that time.

Well, if Dickie V. and Mikie J. agree there's a lot of good positive karma there. Maybe, the times they are a changing . . .

The FBI investigations, I think are going to eventually change the face of college basketball as we know it.
