Well, it could have been worse. They could have compromised on the options and decided on "Ohio State of Mind", which would have resulted in donnybrooks, shennanigans, and potentially fisticuffs.
Interesting and perhaps the voting is representative of the acceptance or lack thereof of the OHIO spelling in many publications and communications. According to the email I received today, Athens State of Mind received 2308, Band of Bobcats 936, and OHIO Original 665.
Me thinks you read too much into that, Alan. I think the vote had to do with the way people reacted to each total theme, not the spelling of OHIO. Personally, I liked Athens State of Mind the least because it sounds too 1960s and because it reminds me of the Athens State Hospital. But, that's just my personal reaction, I wouldn't try to generalize it to all the people who voted for that option. For the record, I didn't care enough to actually vote in the official poll, only here on BA.
