The author's idea of a celebration is jumping up and down in a Manhatten bar. My idea of a celebration is running through the streets of Cleveland and stealing a fire truck.

Everyone's wired a little different.

I relate to this to some degree. Not related to Ohio Athletics, but in the case of the CBJ, I'm firmly a bandwagon fan. I thoroughly enjoy attending the games when I'm there, and followed them a bunch after the college hoops season ended.

What I found most interesting is how the owners of the various teams have used fan loyalty to enrich themselves on the pro level and keep the streams of revenue rolling in when it comes to donations and increased ticket prices at the college level.

It's apparent this guy never experienced what it felt like to be a Nebraska fan through the 80s and then have the 90s come about. Or to be a Chicago Bulls fan before Jordan got over hump and also after.

There's a special kind of satisfaction that comes from sticking with a team through thick and thin, and then having them deliver multiple championships after years of falling short. It's not only the elation of supporting the winning team -- you also get to feel like you *deserve* it. A satisfaction the fair-weather fan will never experience.

My guess, actually, is that Ohio football fans are about to learn what this feels like.

I expect that OHIO will have a banner year this fall

I am Cubs fan and really enjoyed the recent World Championship season. Despite what some on this board think, I was not around for the last time!
