So, thinking of draft prospects, which current OHIO players would likely be considered draft prospects? Here's my guess based solely off watching them and not by knowing what NFL scouts look for:

--Javon Hagan...will he be the first OHIO player to leave school early for the NFL draft? Will he be our highest draft pick ever?
--Papi White...couldn't he be a poor-man's Danny Woodhead or Darren Sproles?
--Louie Zervos...may be a stretch, and I'm not sure if he has the leg strength, but with wider hashmarks and more questionable conditions, he is greater than an 83% field goal kicker in his time at OHIO. His farthest field goal ever is 51 yards. That may not be enough to get him into the league. His percentage would be good enough for 22nd all time if it were an NFL percentage.

You spelled "Joe Burrow" wrong.

It wouldn’t shock me to see Quentin Poling drafted. He seems to be getting a significant amount of attention from a couple of teams.

To really have a good shot at getting drafted, he needs not one, but two, teams interested in him. Mike Mitchell was considered a late round draft or UFA, until the Raiders feared that the Bears, if I recall, also wanted him.

Once you get past the first round (and sometimes even there) you can count on some head-scratching, random draft picks that no one saw coming-or at least not when they are picked.

It will be kind of sad though if not a single player from the East gets drafted beyond a punter.

Of returning players, I would definitely have to say that Hagan probably has the most name recognition among talent evaluators in the league (resume + measurables). Papi, possibly could earn a draft selection in the future. A healthy 2018, would go a ways to strengthening his chances for a later round selection.

This year, Poling's resume + his pro day performance should land him on the radar of more than a few teams. Looking at his comps compared to #'s from this year's combine participants-- they match up very well. All it takes is one team to like you enough to take a chance on you.

Poling’s grade on the nfl site puts him at about a 5th round grade. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/quentin-poling?id=32462018-...

Okorafor went to the Steelers last night. Conklin just went to the Vikes.

Darius Phillips to the Bengals and now Poling to the Dolphins.

None of those guys are MAC East, except for Poling obviously.

Elton didn’t seem to have much to do with that list, the conference just provided the list of MAC players invited to the combine.

As of 7am this Tuesday morning, there have been 14 West MAC and 5 MAC East official free agent signings so that backs up the disparity as well.
