ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio Bobcat Club and the Ohio University Alumni Association will begin its annual Bobcat Caravan Series on Thursday, April 5th in Columbus.

The Columbus caravan stop will be the first of six stops across the Ohio area. Each Bobcat Caravan stop will be highlighted by appearances from Coach Frank Solich, Coach Saul Phillips, Athletics Director Jim Schaus and other special guests.

Caravan stops are FREE to attend and include food, non-alcoholic drinks, prize giveaways, photo opportunities, and plenty of fun. There is no better opportunity to meet our coaches face to face, spend time with Bobcat Nation, and get the inside information on OHIO Athletics.

The 2018 Bobcat Caravan schedule is listed below. We hope to see you this spring!

For those interested Solich was very high on one of the Luehrman twins on making an impact this Fall. He also said Rourke had a procedure on his non-throwing arm (details fuzzy someone else can chime in) and isn't participating much right now aside for in some 7v7 drills. So Maxwell is getting the bulk of the work and said he is impressed with the strides that he has made. Overall he was expecting us to have another great offensive year with the QB, RB and WR talent we have.

Oh and he also touted how important those weekday games in November are for recruiting and thanked the fans for coming out on those cold days. He also mentioned the Sook Center and the Renovated Weight Room as two big things that will be helpful in recruiting for the future. Also asked for more help in raising money for the Weight Room, joking that you don't want players his size, need a modern weight room to get our kids to peak physique.

Frank is really coming out of his shell. He was the most animated & funny I've ever heard him. Honestly he seems to have more energy than when he started here 12ish years ago.

Paraphrase: We need you to help us to revamp the weight room. Heck, I used to be 6-2, 220 back in the day. Look at me know. Do you want players looking like me? OK, donate to the weight room project. Hilarious.

There were more, but my memory is failing me.

Solich seemed supremely confident about offense. Went out of his way to mention RBs, enough WRs to run 4/5 wide sets, mentioned the Pruehs hole at center, the Athens twins, and toughness of replacing Moore/Poling at LB. Also said if there are any situations where defensive depth (presumably LB) struggled due to injury, 'we may just have to outscore em'.

I wish they'd bring the caravan back to northwest Ohio.

It's a shame they took Chillicothe out of the Caravan tour. I thought the stop was a good one at both Buffalo Wild Wings and The Dock at Water. Doesn't make a lot of sense to not stop here at all - this town has an OU branch, sends a great deal of students to Athens (several of whom have wound up on the sidelines for football), is teeming with alumni and has a good deal of season ticket holders. The program could lure even more fans and dollars to Peden if they acted like they were attempting to market here.

This has been addressed before. The OBC has certain cities as mainstays for its annual caravan tour. However they do rotate in and out some of the more moderate sized cities.

Just a reminder that the Caravan stops in the Dayton area tonight (5:30 at the Fox & Hound in Beavercreek). Hope you can make it out.
