Sometimes. Other times it's simply Offense vs. Defense.

I thought that this year it was going to be the Swank French Riviera Wine Sippers vs the SBH Rustbelt Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer Guzzlers. ;-)

Assuming the first year with a new supplier limits Surplus? Still no news on a Sale?

I could be talked into driving down Saturday from Ytown. Need to see some hype and promise of some offensive thrills.

For those going, let me know how the offense looks. I get it we can't read much into the spring game, but even then will be intrigued to see the growth of Rourke moving forward.

Rourke is out this Spring, so it will be Maxwell, Keszei, and Duckworth. I still wouldn't mind hearing how those three look.

I thought Duckworth was gone. There's a walk-on at #3 currently.

Well don't I feel stupid. I need to send my brain to Siberia to re-gather thoughts.

Mine, too. Duckworth is indeed no longer on the roster.

So, who won?

Anybody go to the Spring Game? Arkley's summary sounded like Ogun-Semore will be a beast at DE, but he's buried pretty deep on the depth chart. All this talent on the edge is making me re-consider the merits of the 3-4. Heresy, I know....

Also, I had a dream last night that Peden was renovated, with giant TV screens everywhere and sports bars inside the stadium, but the stands were all turned to face the jumbotrons instead of the field. We opened with Michigan State. I think we lost, but I couldn't see the field to tell you, and I spent most of the game in line for beer anyway.

Go Bobcats.

Bringing your discussion over to a relevant thread (relevant to Ohio Football, I mean), Ogun-Semore may well have moved up that depth chart quite a ways. If you want to move up, you have to make the most of your opportunities, and it sounds like he did. There have been a lot of players recruited to defensive line positions over the years that I thought were going to be really good, and I've been waiting to see who will rise to the top. With all the losses at those positions the last two years, there is room for some new players to show they are just as good.

Think about these losses for a minute:
2017 Robbins, Aloese, Porter, Smart
2016 Sayles, Basham, Laseak, Strobel

That is essentially losing an entire live of very good starters each year. There should be no one left...but there is.

Spring gives younger guys a chance to compete, yes...but I'm wondering if his performance was against players who will also be getting significant minutes in the fall, or against backups/walk-ons.

In either case, he's got a bright future. I think several people identified him as a real diamond in the rough when he was recruited. Long and athletic with a great burst. He just needed to add some meat to his bones.

Inside on the DL, it sounds like Zach Burks has been recovering from surgery this spring, so Cole Baker may have the edge on him right now on the two-deep.

More than just "several people" thought he had a bright future. He had unanimous praise:

WOW. ...

This guy looks ripped already. He is tall and lean at 220. Linebacker potential? A do-everything kind of End/LB? I like it.

... I see him as a DE that can be used for a zone blitz ... I like this guy's potential. ...

.... Very good sign.

Beast! In the backfield effortlessly.

He is going to be a manchild

[QUOTE=crackerbaby00] I know he is unrated, but I am surprised that more people aren't talking about this guy. I don't recall many, if any, passrushers coming into the program with a better tape than this guy. He gets into the backfield with ease against both the run and the pass and plays with a good motor...
