Well, anyway, to receive the Tom Osborne Award: https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/bigten/2018/0... /

About time. You could almost see this coming when Frost said that he’s welcome back anytime. I’d like to be there to see the reaction. There’s still some pretty ruffled feathers over the Solich firing.
I suppose that Frank didn’t dismiss out of hand or it would have never been publicized.

Long overdue in my opinion. The timing of such is interesting as well. I know that Tom Osborne and Frank Solich are going to both live at least a hundred years more (being the unquestionable legends that they both are), but you would think that what happened would be all water under the bridge by now. It makes me wonder if Frost is not a superstitious soul. Perhaps, the firing of Solich years ago did, in fact, lead to a curse being put on the Nebraska program. It is smart of him to resolve all of this; otherwise, face the "curse of Solich."

I think Osborne is the main cause of this happening, not do much Frost, but Frost may have given him a little push.

I really don’t think things just don’t go away until they are addressed directly. This attempt to make amends will go a long way towards healing old wounds.

Glad to see this is happening. Well deserved and well timed. Frank will sell out the house!

Of course, but since every game in the last 56 years has been sold out, that isn't saying much.

It’s not at a game so that has nothing to do with it. What are you thinking LC?

Yeah, but actual butt’s in seats have been WAY down, as the actual tickets scanned have been no where near capacity.

I don't doubt that. The first few years of that streak were kind of sketchy, too. They got local businesses to buy hundreds of tickets for a discount and give them away, so that they could claim it was a sellout. With a new coach, actual attendance for them may be up this year, but the long term trend is not good for all of college football.

Saw an article last week that makes Nebraska's reporting of attendance numbers more curious than ours. Something like 25k no shows per game. I find that many tickets were sold and went unused.
