They've released the college bowl schedule (https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2018/05/02/co... /). All four of the MAC's primary bowls are before Christmas (which is on a Tuesday this year):

Dec. 15 — Camellia Bowl: MAC vs. Sun Belt, ESPN, 5:30 p.m.
Dec. 21 — Bahamas Bowl: MAC vs. Conference USA, ESPN, 12:30 p.m.
Dec. 21 — Famous Idaho Potato Bowl: MAC vs. Mountain West, ESPN, 4 p.m.
Dec. 22 — Dollar General Bowl: MAC vs. Sun Belt, ESPN, 7 p.m.

(Addition)
According to the Bahamas Bowl site, the MAC also has a primary tie-in for 2018 with the Frisco Bowl (which is played in Texas, not California):

Dec. 19 — Frisco Bowl: American vs. at-large, ESPN, 8 p.m.

I subscribe to the notion that beggars shan't be choosers ergo any MAC team that doesn't win their division and still gets a bowl game should just shut up and go but it's always cool when there is a chance to go to a bowl we've never been to and the only scenario where that occurs is going to Dallas...

We cross the bridge of landing in a MAC affiliated bowl game once we rack up a few losses so it's a discussion that hopefully can wait. But I do like Frisco vs. AAC (Memphis?, Houston?) as a good landing spot if we don't NYD it for whatever reason.

I guess I've just reached a point where I'm more interested in filling in slots for other bowls where whatever conference can't make the commitment, "at large." Possibilities over the years have been in DC, Pinstripe (I believe) Heart of Dallas (Cotton), New Mexico and some other oddities. But, when you're the MAC you just take whatever bowl you can get I guess...

Like the Orange (NIU) and the Cotton (WMU)?

Yes, but that's certainly the exception not the rule. Remember, this is a league that from 76-80 had no bowl and from 81-00 had only one bowl.

It was because of Western Michigan going 9-3 along with Toledo going 10-1 that the MAC got ticked off that only one team got in.

Regardless of which bowl Ohio goes to I will be watching it in Nassau. That's my new tradition - Bobcats always at the Bahamas Bowl.

+1

I'm strongly considering doing the same myself.
