So, I understand the parking lots at Clippinger won't be available. Since that is my go-to tailgate location, does anyone know a good backup where we won't be the only tailgaters? I'm not opposed to Tailgreat Park, but I've never used it and don't know the cost (can you just drive up and pay?) Thanks everyone!!

That is where we always tailgated too, losing that lot sucks.

I'm pretty sure Tailgreat Park is free and open to all OBC members.

Clippinger parking lot is where I've parked for years for football and basketball games. Great in and out after games, a trick my dad taught me decades ago.

Clippinger lot was also my go-to lot last year with my daughter in Scott Quad dorm just up the hill. It was going to be my parking space this year with her in Sowl, one of the new dorms across the street from Ping Center.

Very disappointing to see the signs they start posting last winter/spring alerting us that the lot would be closed permanently beginning this year.

The lot behind the Life Sciences building isn't the most scenic, but it's usually open and easy to get into and out of. It has good access to uptown too if you decide you'd rather pregame at a bar.

http://www.ohiobobcats.com/tickets/football/tailgating/ta... - looks like you need to call and set up a spot in TailGreat Park. I have really enjoyed my times over there - especially on Saturday games.

I would also consider the Convo which can be a good time also.

I was never sure why more folks did not tailagte in the parking garage uptown, it seems like the perfect place to avoid the traffic after the game and enjoy some time on Court Street. Just a thought.

I was told you have to be a season ticket holder to park in Tailgreat Park.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, according to ohiobobcats.com,to get into Tailgate Park, you have to have a OBC Donor Parking Pass.
It says to get a Donor Parking Pass you have to be a Season Ticket Holder and a member of the OBC.

To walk through maybe. But like I said, I was told by the Ohio Bobcat Club that to park there you have to be a season ticket holder. That link doesn’t support your claim.

I don't believe there are any tailgating restrictions at any football parking lots. Keep the beverages in a cup and you should be fine anywhere.

Very exciting that Ohio University is building a brand-new, modern, world-class facility for STEM teaching and research!

New Bobcat fan. Looking for some advice on what time I should get there Saturday to get in the tailgating lot on the corner of Richland across from Peden.

If you are talking about the grassy area, first you have to have a parking pass. As for time, I'll defer to the regulars on here but as someone said earlier, with all of the tents that the university sets up/rents, space is becoming more and more limited each year.

I think all tailgate lots, including Tailgreat Park, is at 8am.

Now, you must be an OBC member AND a season ticket holder.

Thanks all! Looks like I need to get there a little earlier than I originally planned. I do have season tickets and am a member of the Bobcat Club.

Does anyone know if O.U. lets vehicles "get in line" before 8:00 ?

I know at Met Life the gates open 5 hours before kickoff.
But there a line of cars waiting for the lots to open.

You don't need to be there at 8.
