Didn't we have a TE that was leading the nation in touchdowns at one point? Was that Mooney? I want to say it was Mooney.

TE always involves a combination of two very different skills, both of which are very important. One is blocking, and the other is receiving, and within the category of receiving you can divide it between the ability to be a deep threat, and the ability to make the tough catch in traffic while being hit.

Mooney was the best deep threat among the Ohio tight ends. Clark may have been the best blocker. Players like Thompson, Mangen, and Heitzman were good at the tough catches. All were good tight ends. Which you prefer depends may depend on the role you see as most important for the tight end. There is no "right" or "wrong" answer.

I would say that Thompson, Mangen, and Heitzman were kind of the prototypical Ohio TEs. Logan, Hill, Morgan, and Mooney were on the light end, while Slyvan, Clark, and Carter were on the heavy end.
