Since Ohio never releases a 2-deep after Spring camp, and all we can do is make wild, uninformed guesses, to give us something to talk about, how about a new off-season chance to prognosticate? Let's guess the 2-deep. When the official game notes for the first game come out, we'll have a real 2-deep to compare to. Scoring will be 3 points for getting the starter right, 1 point for the backup right. If there are co-starters, 2 points for naming either player as first or second team (so, name them both, in either order, you get 4 points). If you name a starter as the backup, you get a point for that, and same for naming a backup as the starter. Thus, if you name the starter and backup, but in the wrong order, you get 2 points.

For the Wide receiver spots, don't bother separating the X, Z, and F positions, just name the three starters and three backups. Same for the two DE spots and two CB spots.

Here's my WUG:
LT - Lowery, Grimes
LG - Anderson, Sink
C - Kitrell, Hayes
RG - Meservy, Wood
RT - Pleasants, Kuhar
WR - White, Cox
WR - Odom, Meyer
WR - Ball, Knock
TE - Brown, Luehrman R
RB - OUellette, Irons
QB - Rourke, Maxwell

DE - Miller, Conrad
NG - Payne, Coleman
DT - Berger, Burks
DE - Evans, Ogun-Semore
SLB - Connor, Robinson
WLB - Gullett, Popp
MLB - Croutch, Clack
CB - Hudson, Brooks
CB - Fox, Motley X
FS - Nelson, Hampton
SS - Hagen, Floyd

PK - Zervos
P - Farakas
LS - Hale, Bryan

Edit Notes: Cant risk those fake internet points, so I made some minor changes

It could be Meservy at Center with Kitrell at RG If Wood goes down.

Like yours....except your 2nd team Dline is my first...but that doesn’t really matter since those 2 groups will rotate...and eventually you may see true freshmen working into the 2 Deep at maybe LB.....DB....DL....and maybe even WR.

I forgot Arp on the DL....and Payne should be on that list as well...they might be two of our best DTs.

Man, I'm just not ready to commit to calling a 2-deep if fake internet points are on the line. I need to see some reports out of camp first.

Wait, if you win you get fake internet points? No way! Darn, I should have held back on my guess until I had something real to go on.

What makes this extra hard is having no clue if any true freshmen will break into the 2 deep. I wouldn’t be surprised if a couple might break through, but I have no idea who they may be.

If it were easy, you wouldn't win fake internet points for getting it right. My OL wasn't far off from what Steele has, with the exception of reversing Kitrell and Hayes, plus the backup for Lowery, and I freely admit that I had absolutely no clue who that might be. My DL, well, I had no clue. I left off Payne, and while I nearly guessed that Miller would be on the two deep, I didn't go with it.

L.C., I think you're allowed a do-over if you want. You really don't want to miss out on any fake internet points you might have coming to you. 35 FIPs are worth, like, 4 schrutebucks, at least at current exchange rates.

(As for the topic at hand, I went through this exercise a couple months ago with both lines. We're deep and have a lot of flexibility. Two names not on Steele's list are Tusha and Caesar...and this time last year I thought those two would both be pushing to start time this coming season.)

And can't 1,000 Schrute Bucks also be exchanged for an extra five minutes of lunch break?

On the other hand, if Wood is healthy enough to play all year, it wouldn't hurt my feelings to let Meservy redshirt. He will almost certainly play, however.

I actually expect a 3-4 deep rotation, which I expect will add Arp, Caesar, C. Baker, Chuckwu, and McKnight.

I have some Chilean Escuderos that I can put on the line. These have absolutely no value, since Chile changed its currency to the Peso.

Irland and Tusha were held back by injury, while Danneker is still adjusting to the next level.

It could be Meservy at Center with Kitrell at RG If Wood goes down.

I was surprised but Phil Steele has Kitrell as first team center. Hayes did a solid job in the minutes he had. JP will be missed at center

An Ohio depth chart appears:

Is it the right one? Who knows. It's similar in many ways, but has some peculiar differences.

Arkley's early camp 2-deep:
https://www.athensmessenger.com/blogs/bobcat_blog/practic...

Some concerns about OL depth, which may be justified following the apparent injury-related departures of Tusha and Kuhar. WR will need someone to step up if Ball is done (as expected). Defense looks stable, if a little green.
