I agree, the first turnover and bad tackling put us in a hole that was too big to overcome. The defense will continue to improve enough that we could still win he MAC.

That whole game was hot garbage. Our offense isn't nearly what we'd hoped and our D is a goddamned nightmare. We've given up neatly 1200 yards in two games. I appreciate the effort to find the right shade of lipstick for this pig but it's a desperate reach.

The whole game? No. I think we played well at times and poorly at times. We need to start better for one thing. I was encouraged that we didn’t fold when we were down 34-7. And isn’t throwing shade what you guys are doing? Please don’t use slang if you aren’t sure what it means.

The first half of that game was easily the weirdest half of football I've ever seen. You could throw out half the weird stuff and it would still be one of the weirdest. UVA at one point had run four drives: one three-and-out, and THREE single-play touchdown drives wherein they were averaging about 50 yards a play.

Then it's 35-7 with less than 3 minutes left to go in the half and Virginia has the ball, you're just hoping it doesn't go to 42-7 before the half. Flash forward about 30 seconds of game time later, and thanks to a huge turnover, a couple Rourke bombs, and a kickoff that bounced off the receiving team's face, and it's 35-21. Super weird.

Ohio has a chance to be good still, they have to get better. Winning the MAC remains an achievable goal. I did like how they kept fighting and didn't start pointing fingers at each other or get down on themselves. It didn't work out today but if they keep fighting like that, it will pay off eventually.

This team hasn't gotten going until the last couple minutes of the half in each game. We were down 22-10 to Howard and 35-7 to UVA before things started to gel. Sounds like maybe poor prep. While it's good to see they don't quit, they're not going to win many games playing well for only 32 minutes.

Same thoughts I had. Got the feeling the players and coaches figured something out during this crazy game. Hopefully it carries over to next weekend.

We did not completely dominate them, we basically tied them in the second half. The green glasses only work for the the last five minutes of the first half.

Akron just knocked off northwestern. But I can't wait to talk about how we almost played 18 minutes of decent football. Yay?

At Northwestern at the half, Akron was down 21-7. In the 2nd half the Zips outscored the Wildcats 32-13.

Nice win for Akron.

But Bowden should have been fired on the spot for his play call on the game's next-to-last play if Northwestern had capitalized on the following play.

Cats 22, your first sentence has just stuck in my head because I thought the same thing as I turned over at halftime to see BYU beat Wisconsin and hear their coach Kilani Sitake talk about his team's upset. He said the team is essentially the same 4 win team from last year. He just had a year to get them to believe in their abilities. He said if you go through life without faith in big things and small, life will be pretty pathetic. He said he finally convinced his team they didn't need to get pushed around anymore and he reminded them again about all of this at halftime. If there is anyway Coach Solich could bring him in for motivational after practice talk (in the off chance BYU has an off week,) it certainly couldn't hurt.

As bad as our defense was in the first half, the offensive line was even worse--getting bull rushed every play. In the second half, it was as if the Bobcats actually believed they could win against a Power 5 team. Nathan Rourke and Papi White are true talents and when they are allowed to ply their craft, it is a thing of beauty. It makes the rest of the team play harder and become the players they know they can be. One of the craziest games, I have ever seen. Let's hope that's the last of the Jekyll and Hyde craziness.

Thank, God, that the Athens hometown crowd have Joe Burrow and LSU to cheer for; otherwise, this might be a tough season to watch. It could be worse though: we could already be into basketball season and watch Saul-ball get 140 points put up on them on National Television by Xaiver

Who cares about Joe Burrow? Hell, we can't even get Jimmy Burrow to do anything in Athens right now.

Easy to play the game when no pressure is on, and when you are down big, the game gets easier in many ways. The opponent often times slacks up a little, and you relax at the same time and play a little more free.

As for who cares about Burrow, well, an awful lot of people do around this town and campus.

Yeah, sometimes I have to double check to make sure I’m on the right site.
