Which Ohio shows up? The Ohio of 2-3 weeks ago that was the preseason MAC champion favorite or the team that was pushed to the brink by FCS Howard? I was very optimistic Ohio could win this game awhile ago; now, not as much.

Here's to hoping Ohio bounces back bigtime! GO BOBCATS!!

UVA has very little depth on the offensive and defensive line. Part of it was poor roster management by Mike London that Mendenhall inherited and also injuries and players being dismissed on the DL.

I have followed thesabre.com since its inception in 1996 when I was not on the old T-Comm board for the Bobcats.

They do have a Graduate Transfer Dylan Thompson from Ohio $tate, but they have pretty much hated Ohio State all of these years so you should all feel at home.

Not sure about the weather with Florence headed this way.

Wow. Just went to The Sabre and my eyes hurt.

The layout for the topics/threads is horrible.

I always appreciate BA but now I do even more.

Thank you Ted and Ryan for not needing bifocals to enjoy the site!

Does anyone know what station this ACC Network is on for DirecTV subscribers?
Thanks

I've been on more than a few forums over the years. The format for Bobcatattack is the best of any of them. It was even better when Ryan had more time, and people could post in different fonts, use emoticons, etc, but it's still excellent.

I definitely think the margin of victory for Ohio in this one is not a barometer like it was with Howard. A close victory, easy cruise whatever is fine.

To be fair, the "Ohio of 2-3 weeks ago that was preseason MAC champion" is nothing but a prediction. What they need to be is the Ohio that beat Toledo by 28 on the road last year.

I believe the ACC Network works differently than the SEC Network. There are no actual channels on DirecTV or cable, but an affiliate station will broadcast the games. In Ohio, if you get The CW, ACC games will be broadcast there. Which one will it be? Who knows.

Better off just pulling up the WatchESPN app on a smart TV, tablet, phone or Roku/Amazon Fire Stick to find this one.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong here.

I think the actual network, which will be comparable to the SEC Network and have it's own dedicated channels, is supposed to launch in 2019.

105, you are correct. The real network starts up next year.

Here are streaming directions from last year (I'm not sure whether it's changed): https://www.newsobserver.com/entertainment/tv/warm-tv-blo...

The CW station in Columbus doesn't currently show it on its schedule.

I don't think it will be broadcast on Directv. It's listed as an ACC Network EXTRA game ... so that is essentially an internet broadcast.

So you'll need either WatchESPN or pay for ESPN+ subscription. Not sure if ACC games are free on ESPN3 (WatchESPN) or not?

Here is link: http://www.espn.com/watch/_/id/3410490/ohio-vs-virginia-f...

But again, not sure if it'll be free or not next weekend?

The path of Florence leads me to believe there is a high probability that the game will be played in steady rain with some type tropical depression at that point. UVA will play in 100% chance of rain tonight so I hope Solich is able to run a few practices in the rain to get used to wet footballs.

The drainage at Scott Stadium is pretty good, but there has been a lot of rain this year and rain is projected most of the week before Florence may pose its own threat.

Still figuring out the new UVA offense, but Ohio may have an advantage in the area of a north and south Beau up the middle game plan.

I remember the gut wrenching loss to NC State that I along with others including SBH attended in the tropical storm. To this day, it is probably the toughest loss I attended in person for any sport.

Ohio grad. UVA dad living in Virginia. UVA season ticket holder and member of Sabre Message Board as well as this Board. Will be wearing green in the midst of UVA season ticket holders! If you still have the flexibility, come down to Charlottesville. Great town - great grounds (their name for campus)! Warm fan base, unless you are a Virginia Tech Fan! Big Bobcat Bash tailgate scheduled! We have friend coming from all over! It is not that far and we could paint the town green. This game looks like a toss up to me. OHIO should have the advantage with the week off, despite home field advantage! Bryce Perkins is a strong dual threat QB! He is a dangerous runner! They also have a couple of very good receivers! Either way hope to see many of you at the Bobcat Bash!!

UVA is really run oriented and Perkins is the center of it all. He had 108 of their 300 rushing yds vs Richmond and 123 of their 200 rushing yds vs IU. The passing game is a little weak, tho. 13/24 for 185 vs Richmond; 12/24 for 106 vs IU. The trick is to make him use his arm and not his legs. They don't beat themselves; only two TOs in the first two games.

We are planning to come up from Richmond. My wife earned her Undergraduate and Law Degree's from UVA and was a season ticket holder for over 30 years. Katie Couric was her RA on The Lawn. Her Dad graduated from UVA after serving in WWII. We plan to attend the Bobcat Bash. Our daughter is a Senior at Georgia so we follow them very closely and attended the SEC Championship last year.

Thanks for the links to the Virginia sites.

I think the Bobcats match up well with Virginia and can win this game. One thing that helps our chances vs an ACC opponent this year vs past years is depth on the defensive and offensive line (except possibly OT). With a legit 2-deep on the d-line, we might be able to avoid that fourth quarter fade that sinks (Pirate?) ships.

I think Ohio can control the game to an extent on the ground in 2 or 3 WR sets with the interior running game. And with the man/zero coverage Virginia has been running in 2 or 3 wr sets, I like our chances for explosive plays with PAPI or passes to RBs.

The Virginia QB is a runner/scrambler which Ohio coaches have experience with containing and need to contain to limit explosive plays. Virginia's QB will definitely test Ohio's run defense/contain.

With this impending storm there could be a chance this game gets postponed or cancelled? When would they make the decision on this game?

Unless thunder and lightning the Bobcats will fighting the Hoos Saturday at 3pm! Sat through a rain soaked Georgia Tech - UVA game last year! Drive down early if coming roads may have some fooding! Then again just saw the latest predictions, and if the heart of Florence is where presently predicted, maybe they will consider moving it to Sunday!

I don't like this weather being slated for Charlottesville. Definitely not what we need to take on Virginia. No passing game=deep crap against them.

This definitely doesn't appear to be your run of the mill tropical storm. Conditions may be absolutely atrocious on Saturday. Is there any chance this game gets moved to Athens? I would assume not, but didn't know if there were any precedence for something like that. I would also assume they would have to make a call like that very early this week.
