The key quote.

"The opportunity that Charlotte football has here — resources, administration, there’s just a lot of opportunities in the American and this conference.”

Do you think this is why Julie reached out to the Sun Belt?

What does that quote tell you? To me it's boilerplate.

That quote has nothing to do with HOW he left.

Agreed but that quote is about the WHY.

It was ALL about maximizing salary, despite what he says here. And he failed.

There was another thread where this was mention. Here's what I said there: "Though I sense a lot BS in these quotes from Albin, if the statement about salary is to be believed it means that a certain poster has been beating the wrong dead horse." I stand by that quote.

Sticking to the dog emergency story.

At least he finally acknowledged the timing was unfortunate.

The story doesn't work. It never has.

Nothing wrong with getting another job, getting a raise, etc (even though he butchered that).

I'd have a lot more respect for him without the lying.

Coughlin's Law: "All things end badly, otherwise they wouldn't end"

I will be forever grateful to Coach Albin for leading an unheralded team to our first MAC Championship in my lifetime.

However, the way he left was tasteless. End of story. And I could care less if i ever hear from him again.

To be fair The American does require of its members to distribute a minimum of $10 million in revenue sharing to its student athletes over three years. The MAC does not have a minimum standard applied. In Charlotte though Albin will be competeing against programs like Memphis who are planning to spend to the maximum allowed. Charlotte only has a 15,000 seat stadium so not sure where that extra money will be coming from to meet the spending requirement.

And that leads me to the most important Coughlin's Law...

"Bury the dead. They stink up the joint."
