[This answer is exactly what I’m talking about. Why does it matter what the other school’s academic profile is like in an athletic conference? What does school A benefit from school B in the conference having good academics? Just the vanity and self opinion boost of being associated with a more prestigious school?
No one has cared about “academic profiles” since the early 2010s realignments. Big Ten fans clutched their pearls that Nebraska wasn’t in the AAU, and then when they got lit up by the SEC after that, that’s the last anyone cared..
First, the Ohio legislature would not care at all if Ohio left for the SBC.
We aren’t Ohio State, therefore they couldn’t care less.
It’s also not their business to mingle in regardless, but there’s a zero percent chance they would.
