This is the place I am most excited about so I wanted to see what anyone thought of in terms of our offensive line starters and other guys in the rotation. This time last year we knew we had some decent dudes but no one could have predicted Heindecker would be a pro prospect or that Jacob Dennison would become a Wake Forest transfer candidate. Obviously Shedrick and Weatherspoon have their spots nailed down. Next in line is intriguing with Waite from tiny Shippensburg but a ton of experience, Marinaro from Dartmouth as an All-Ivy and the big guy Dewerk. Trent Allen obviously is a leader already and we have a ton of guys who saw action last year. Jordon Jones started a few games, Kam Wright and Shelby played in a ton of games and Aidan Johnson saw action. Toss in Cisse who is interesting and the depth should be solid. Who starts though?

OL... a lot of guesses, but I think we have some decent depth with anchors on the outside with Weatherspoon and Shed.

In my head, I would like to see eventually...

LT - DOWORK (An absolute UNIT. Spent 3 years at USC. Last season at App State. 6'7' 340)(Shed might be more likely at LT?)
LG - Davion Weatherspoon (I imagine he starts at LT) / Shelby
C - Kam Wright
RG - Trent Allen / Marinaro / Waite (Hopes for Marinaro to become Heidecker2)
RT - Shedrick Rhodes / Jordon Jones (Welcome Home Shed)

Shelby - probably our 6th/7th man with Jones.
Cisse - Didnt play in 2024, but played as a true freshman for Idaho, so he's got some experience and the best name on the team.
Maldanado - is a senior. Not sure he's ever played, but he's got some years under his belt.
Ibrahim Kebe - 3 star Freshman. 6'8" 300+. Boals should give him a ring.

I've said it a few times, but I sure wish we were starting out with some cupcakes.

Trying to break in some new pieces, and new coaches at that, vs Ohio State... on the road... at night LOL............

I really just hope we're able to keep it moving, find some positive plays (hopefully full drives), keep your head down and focus towards MAC play, cause potentially getting walloped three weeks in a row (still think we have a chance to rebound vs WVU) it's gonna be easy to say everything sucks, everything is broken, we need changes, etc etc etc It's gonna be a tough test of your mentals. Most of these guys aren't used to losing very much.

Weatherspoon at LG works since the big USC/App State guy needs to see the field.

No concerns with depth.

My ? is what the Dline rotation will look like?

My best guess...

LT - Rhodes -- Shelby
LG - Weatherspoon -- Cisse -- Anstead
C - Wright -- Marinaro -- Parson
RG - Allen -- Johnson -- Waite
RT - Jones -- Dewerk

It's nice to have Rhodes back as a plug and play tackle who's previously been in the system. I like the depth at Tackle especially with the big man Dewerk. Lots of other names that could step up in backup roles.

Interesting group. They will miss Dennison but have recovered nicely. Plenty of potential in the room.

Agree completely about the above comments on the DL. This team just lost Weaver, Cam Rice, Henderson and Doggette. Those guys were all big time contributors. The OL starters last fall that are no longer in Athens are Tittsworth, Atkinson, Dennison and Heidecker. Very good players who will be difficult to replace.

Unfortunately this is going to be a conversation we have every year about replacing starters but I trust in Brian Smith & Co. to find talent in the portal.

They brought in a bunch of transfers who will certainly make an instant impact on the D-Line.

DE
Evan Herrmann (Vanderbilt)
Anas Luqman (Arkansas Pine Bluff)
Joseph Marsh (Boise State/College of the Canyons)

DL
Nehemiah Dukes (Youngstown State)
Pius Odjugo (Central Michigan)
Derek Reagans (City College of San Francisco)

And while we did lose a lot to the portal there are other guys that have been in the system who can possibly take that next step...names like Kaci Seegars, Jay Crable, Walter Bob, RJ Kuechler, Nathan Hale, Austin Mitchell.
