Any insight on when the MAC schedule will be released? Almost always released before Spring Practice begins.

A statement was released when season tickets went on sale that it would be out in late February or early March. They have already missed that target.

With one less week in the season than last year, and odd number of teams that requires at least one team not playing a conference game every week in October and November, everyone not having availability to play conference games in September because they already committed to their OOC games in these four weeks because they assumed there would be 12 teams in the league and MAC games would be played in October and November, a commitment in place to play a large number of weeknight games in November midweek which essentially requires the use of the one bye week this year to reset the schedule.....They have to pick between the least bad of only really bad options on how to do that.

I HOPE that the MAC understood this and had committed to which bad plan they were going to use prior to signing on Sac. St. I still expect that this was the case. My guess is that the solution will be that numerous teams will be forced to play a compressed Sat. then Thur. then Tue. type of schedule and that there might be a Thursday game or two in this setup required to be on Oct. 29. My guess is that there is a lot of infighting on which programs certain aspects of this will be forced and in which week in will be forced on them.

+1, but they're being paid $18 million for all those bad options!

It would be funny if out of the blue the MAC announced a 14th football member right before they release the schedule. I don't think they'd be that crazy to do that, but this is a different era in college sports.

I don't think it can happen at this point. I feel like there is a decent chance that South Dakota State will sign a 4 year contract that exits the same time as Sac. State. Play in the FBS because they apparently really want to since NDSU is now. Probably pay the MAC some money. Reassess where you want to be after 2030.

Just noticed Jim Madison is coming to Athens. That's pretty cool.

Pretty stoked to take Marshall out behind the woodshed at home as well.

Barring something dumb like last year's BallS game, I foresee 9-3 as a real possibility.

MAC Schedule is favorable in my opinion. Road games with Kent, Akron, Sac St, & Miami. Get EMU, CMU, Ball St, & Toledo at home. 7-1 or 6-2 seems likely if, BIG IF, we have solid QB play.

Ohio has been a quarterback Meca for a dozen years. I'd be happy with a run first QB, .and the last name Rourke.

OK, what was the solution? Has anyone noticed? It looks like they did manage to get a few conference games earlier than conference games, which in itself would not have been enough. A major part of the solution is that Sac. St. is only playing six conference games. They would not have been eligible for the MACCG per NCAA rules anyway. But I asked, since the MAC has been giving out a regular season championship to win or share between the teams with the best conference record, would they be eligible for that. I assumed yes. Now, I assume no.

Compared to last year's brutal gauntlet, this year looks more favorable for us.

Our "toughest" test will be the opener at Nebraska, but after that it gets more manageable right away. Jax State is tough, an annual contender in C-USA. South Alabama, don't know how good they'll be. Stonehill, FCS opponent, easy win.

Kinda funny we're one team going all the way out west to Sac State. I see us beating the Hornets. They're not scary.

The only 3 real tests the rest of the way will be vs. CMU, @ Get the Benefit of the Doubt (Miami), and the season finale vs. Toledo.

We don't get Western Michigan. Good. We get Akron and Kent back on the schedule. Good.

I'm an idiot who can't count. They are playing 8 but I was in a hurray to get to an appointment and just didn't see a couple since they are scattered all throughout the season. Somehow they did manage to move a few non-conference games it looks like. Probably teams that now play Sac. St. at a later date. The Hornets did end up being a team that plays the compressed schedule that I was expecting.

Don't sleep on the away game Sac St out west. They are way better than UMASS. It will be a struggle at Nebraska and South Alabama will not be a cupcake down south. Throw in the Redhawks away in early November and Toledo after Thanksgiving and this schedule is not easy.

I don't think Sac State is a bad team at all. I just don't think they're scary, nor a real contender.

The only guaranteed loss I see on our schedule is at Nebraska. Jax State and South Alabama are both toss-ups. We don't know how good they'll be.

How we play against CMU, Miami, and Toledo could tell the story, but who knows? We're many months away.

I don’t really think we can count on much until we see what kind of QB play we get, and to a lesser degree if Brune (or someone else) takes the next step running the ball. Going to need great QB play or a great running game to win 9+ games, or at least be pretty good at both.

I think they will be better than more than half of the MAC.

This football program protects home field as well as any school in the country. The Bobcats have a great win percentage at Solich Field.
