Now we need to make a new portal tracker thread since this one is just a pissing match
That one would just devolve too.

Here is a development idea - The original poster of a thread can label replies as off-topic, then the reader can choose to hide off topic replies. Add it to the list Ryan, for things to do when you find free time in 2035.

Haha, well I can say v2.0 is currently being worked on...

I do like this suggestion. I'll see if I can work it in along with whatever I come up with for this "ignore" feature.

I just want a chat room with sound effects again. Nothing like an upset at Maryland with a cow moo and a toilet flush.

Thanks man..decent list.

Rosa at RB is at the top of my list.

At FCS QB Body and RB Edward’s stand out.

At D2 you have OT with Shahu at 6’8”-305 and Feika at 6’4”-305.

Also at D2 you have DT Stieg at 6’4-265 and a bunch of DEs.

Rosa and McKelton are visiting this week and we can’t let them leave without a commitment.
Dual threat QB Alabama State HBCU Andrew Body with impressive numbers. HUGE high school results in Corpus Christi, TX threw for 4,344 and 48 TDs in his senior year and over 13,000 in his hs career!!! Has lost college game time with a shoulder injury. Great interviewer and should like the OHIO Sales Center and what it can do for his business career if he comes to Athens.

I really don't think we are in the mix for this guy. He just lists us as one of like 40 schools who have contacted him. As far as I know, no visit or anything. Not sure on offer, and he doesn't follow anyone OU on X from what I can tell. Could be wrong, but...

It looks like we’ve pretty much given up, so far, on going after FBS transfers. Our conference buddies don’t seem to have that strategy as much. No problem at all with non-FBS players, but we’ve had some success in the past.

I'm sure we have offered more but just don't know who. The TE who committed didn't post anything until the commitment pic. (edit.... he didn't even post it, the FB twitter account did)

My gut's telling me we're working behind the scenes and keeping quiet about any FBS guys we are contacting, until a signing happens or not.

Could be, but the guy’s agent, if he’s doing his job, is going to broadcast it, don’t you think?

We do this every single time.

And I say this every single time; We're not anyones first choice for prom date.

Our best recruits have come at the tail end of the second window, and I don't think this will be any different. This week and next we'll see many more commitments across the country, and some realities will set in for recruits who are still waiting for Dan Lanning to call. And then thats where we swoop in.

Regardless, our best portal guys - outside of Tyus, and Wigs - have all come from FCS, D2, JUCO, G5 levels. Damn near the entire OL was put together via FCS, D2, or JUCO. Thats where we thrive. That's our foundation. The OL from USC can't see the field, but Dartmouth legend Nick Marinaro... ALL-MAC. Coleman Owen came in with a Michigan WR, and an Illinois WR and guess who set records... buddy boy from Northern Arizona. We've had defensive transfers from Michigan State, Purdue, Wisconsin and you know who has been one of our best signings - HOLY CROSS. Walt Bob... Alabama commit, being outworked by Pius (Ark Pine Bluff) and Dukes (Youngstown). I love a good P5 signing, I do. It's exciting, but we have been crushing it on the lower levels.

I'm not sweating it, and you shouldn't either. Our time will come.

You’re right, I’m backing off the edge. We’ll definitely get some winners from the 9,000 players estimated to be out there.

I was curious about Andrew Metzger, our new burly TE from Colorado (via K State)… his family is actually from Centerville. Metzger’s dad went to Kettering, played TE at Ohio State in the early 90’s.

So he’ll probably have quite a bit of support out here.

(And end up at OSU next season lol)

Best I can tell, with who appears to be coming back along with our fall signees, we need about 15 from the portal. Prob a realistic pool of 3,000.

As mentioned above somewhere, he’s from Maryland, makes a lot of sense. Towson is 28 miles from his home town.

Yeah the hometown thing makes sense for some.

The lack of playing time doesn’t make sense because he had a good chance this year but maybe he got the word or impression he would ride the pines again.

Bowman’s dad played for Miami, mostly as a returner and backup RB to Travis Prentice in the day, so always nice to turn red—>green.

It's not a stretch to think we will have three Pick North teammates in the offensive rotation—Bowman, Taylor, and AJ Miller.
