The biggest project is creating a football ops building with locker room on the student side. This will house entire program. Freshening up of student side is part of this project.

Peden tower has the football ops now so if they are going to build another and with those objectives I could see a student athlete cafeteria in the ops building. A gold plated style locker room to keep up with the ones Miami and Buffalo put in their ops building. With the limited amount of space behind Peden its natural to build it multi-story then the question from their is do you design it to be a tower of equal height to what is on the home side? Can you slip in new premium seating to meet the stated goal of strengthening revenue generation? A tower with box seats could do that and freeing up some ot the existing tower for boxes. They might as well squeeze in 2000 to 2500 more premium seats if they are going to the length of adding another structure to the stadium.

Yes, transitioning the current Tower space into premium seating/hospitality is also part of the plan.

I think Ohio fans need to be realistic here. There isn't an appetite from the University to fund a building JUST to be used by football. The cost, looking at CMU who completed their football ops building in 2020 at $22 million. This doesn't say anything to the cost of renovating Peden Tower to make it less office focused and more fan focused, likely doubling the cost or at least 50%.

I would think the idea of a football operations building is a pipe dream at this point. Unless somebody has $20 million laying around somewhere. But given Donny is one of the largest cash gifts in University history, I don't see 10-20 new people coming together to donate $1-$2 million.

For the record here are the top five donations to OHIO in its storied history:

*$124 million, Fritz and Dolores Russ (plus later gift of $5.8 for Russ Prize)
*$64 million, Violet Patton
*$46.8 million, Jeffery D. Chaddock and Mark A. Morrow
*$10 million, Larry A. and Mary A. Gates
*$8 million, estate of Beth Stocker

The above does not include the $105 million from the Osteopathic Heritage Foundations, since it was not an gift from an individual or individuals but from a foundation.

With two buildings bearing his name, where does Walter fit in?

With further review in booth, the call on the field is overturned and Robert D. Walter and Margaret Walter clock in at $10 million and take over 5th place from Beth Stocker's estate.

FlyerCat visiting w lots of untruths today. Donnie's $2mm is nowhere close to being one of largest gifts.

Didn't I just say the same thing, a little more delicately?

I just received an email about the Stand Up For Ohio Football initiative, which seems to be the big announcement. The email says we’ve raised $3 million already and hope to get $2 million more in the next year.

It ain’t much but I threw in $30, $10 for each bucket.
