Averaged over 18 per game as a senior, scored over 1000 in career. 3rd team all state, conference co player of the year along with Ajay Sheldon.

As I understand it, was not on Bobcat radar screen til about 6 weeks ago when someone close to the UA program alerted Boals and Co. about him (parents are both Ohio grads). Ohio contacted UA staff, got some tape on him, had him in for a visit and extended offer this week.

Very pleased to see Ohio staff following up on something like this. I know last decade, a previous staff did not follow up when UA folks tried to get them interested in several players. UA has turned out a number of D1 kids in last few years.

Very excited seeing tape of this kid. Can get to the rim and shoot from three with no issues. This is coming off a dominant 21-5 campaign for Upper Arlington, but realistically he will likely see the bench most of the year.

My wife, a Bexley High School graduate, tells me that nothing good can come out of Upper Arlington! cool cheeky

[For young whippersnappers: Back before you were born UA and Bexley were big football and basketball rivals, though UA won most of the time.]

Not as big a rivalry as UA/Grandview Heights (before my lifetime) or Bexley/Grandview Heights (my lifetime).

Since I posted this, my wife has told me that I had one fact wrong. She says that Bexley did win its fair share of the games back then. She said they were about equal rivals, but that what happened was that UA grew and Bexley did not, so that now UA is much bigger but back in her day they were approximately the same size, or at least the high schools were. We have a good friend who is from UA and he also remembers this bitter rivalry. Whenever we get together with him my wife and he exchange smack.

While UA grew in population over the last century or more, Grandview Heights and Bexley, both land-locked, have not. Before UA became too large, Grandview was able to compete in all sports and the UA-GH football game was the the biggest game of the year for both schools up until about the 1960s.

Grandview, small school division back then and today, produced talented football players and teams back then. One of those teams had two players that starred in college - QB Ralph Gugliemi at Notre Dame and kicker Tad Weed at Ohio State. A college all-star team would play against the NFL champs back in those days. One year the all-stars beat the Chicago Bears with Gugliemi throwing all of the winning team's touchdown passes and Weed kicking all of the field goals and extra points. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess no other high school in America can make such a claim.

Tad Weed's claim to fame, however, came in another sport. He invented in the 1970s the WEED tennis racket, the largest of its kind at the time.

Interesting. I remember those college all-stars vs the NFL games. They were always very interesting. One year an Ohio player intercepted a pass and ran for a TD. Chris Schenkel, I think it was. Mispronounced his name and identified him as being from the Big Football Farm in Cowtown. I believe the player that did the pick 6 was Dick Grecni.

I found this video of a very nice interview with Dick Grecni.  Toward the end you can see a clip of the interception. Luckily, they used a summary clip that IDed his school correctly, even if they stuck on the "U."

Probably...but I don't think anyone really thought Lundo was ever coming back.

Is there a reason Quinn is not pinned on Recruiting page like other commits?
