Went for 43 and 18 tonight.

Ohio signee Aidan Hadaway dominated in LaFayette’s big win over LFO tonight with 43 points & 18 rebounds. Just no matchup for him on the other side and you know you’re going to get a nonstop motor from him every time out.

https://t.co/dvkRFN556v
Minutes next year will be hard to come by for all players. If we return everyone (which I know is not a given anymore) you have:
STARTERS
Sears
Miles B
Roderick
Dwight Wilson

BENCH GETTING RUN NOW
Clayton
Towns
Ezuma

BENCH NOT RUNNING
Granger
Olumide
Frazier

This doesn't even factor in the tantalizing prospect of BVP and Lundo returning. The 4 freshmen all look exciting in their own way. Brown and EJ4 both look like fantastic all-around players while Sheldon is confident and tough. Hadaway, for as thin as he is, isn't afraid of contact. At first glance he appears like he could redshirt but we said the same about Clayton and now he's scoring 12 points in 19 minutes and Jason Carter is saying he could be MAC POY someday! Boals is rocking it!
A lot of this will depend on BVP and one more year...but if he doesn't come back...I would be surprised if Brown or James or Clayton don't find there way into the starting line-up from the start.

Couple thoughts from above posts:

Hadaway ain't red-shirting unless he's injured - so I agree. He's way too good for that, based on the highlights we've seen thus far.

All three of Wilson, Vander Plas and McDay aren't coming back next year. The odds are sooo low.

It would shock me if all three of the guys you mention above in "bench not running" return. Guys want to play. They aren't, and there are four frosh coming that will take at least two spots that get major PT. I'm not sure which two will be those guys, but this class is going to have a couple guys that come in right away and play a fair bit.

I like it. I was a "Saul apologist", but he and his staff weren't able to create this kind of competition for PT. Boals and his group are creating competition, and it shows on the court when the 7th, 8th, 9th guys come in and contribute. I'd rather lose good players to transfer because of competition than any other reason. That's kind of what we're starting to see.

100% agree. The guy is ranked as the 7th best player in Georgia. He is not coming to Athens to redshirt his freshman year....he's too damn good anyway. I fully expect him to get minutes next year. The only thing that could limit those minutes in my opinion is if BVP comes back.

If BVP does not return, I'd bet the farm Clayton starts next year.

Agreed with Clayton starting if BVP does not return for his super duper senior season. We would be so loaded if he did though.

McDonald's All-American, however, wouldn't be a bad thing.

It seems obvious to me that part of Aidan’s recruiting visit included Richland Avenue and E. State Street, which undoubtedly helped Coach Boals close his commitment. As time goes by I get more and more impressed by how astute Jeff is at using every possible resource at his disposal to get these good players. Keep up the good work Coach! ;)

FYI, McDonald's All-Americans are done by region with our very own Ajay Sheldon being a Midwest Nominee. Didn't see Elmore, Aiden or AJ Brown listed in any of the regions though...

Oh, that makes sense… Thanks! BTW, still surprised Aiden and Elmore aren’t on the list. Guess they’ll just have to prove em’ wrong then.

27/23/5, those are some absurd numbers.

Anybody know what sort of competition Lafayette plays against?

Aidan has been named first-team all-Georgia by each organization that does these things. He also played in the Georgia High School All-Star Basketball game last Saturday in the Gateway Arena. I've looked for days but can't find any results, much less the box score. The good news, no matter where you look, Aidan is rated among the top dozen players in Georgia and that's saying something.

The AJC all-state team for all of the entire state. Aidan's school is 90 minutes from Atlanta, 30 minutes from the Tennessee border. My cousin is a police officer in Georgia who knows a lot of people in sports from the high level to the pros. His sources confirm that Aidan is the real deal.
