Went for 43 and 18 tonight.
Ohio signee Aidan Hadaway dominated in LaFayette’s big win over LFO tonight with 43 points & 18 rebounds. Just no matchup for him on the other side and you know you’re going to get a nonstop motor from him every time out.
https://t.co/dvkRFN556vMinutes next year will be hard to come by for all players. If we return everyone (which I know is not a given anymore) you have:
STARTERS
Sears
Miles B
Roderick
Dwight Wilson
BENCH GETTING RUN NOW
Clayton
Towns
Ezuma
BENCH NOT RUNNING
Granger
Olumide
Frazier
This doesn't even factor in the tantalizing prospect of BVP and Lundo returning. The 4 freshmen all look exciting in their own way. Brown and EJ4 both look like fantastic all-around players while Sheldon is confident and tough. Hadaway, for as thin as he is, isn't afraid of contact. At first glance he appears like he could redshirt but we said the same about Clayton and now he's scoring 12 points in 19 minutes and Jason Carter is saying he could be MAC POY someday! Boals is rocking it!
A lot of this will depend on BVP and one more year...but if he doesn't come back...I would be surprised if Brown or James or Clayton don't find there way into the starting line-up from the start.
Couple thoughts from above posts:
Hadaway ain't red-shirting unless he's injured - so I agree. He's way too good for that, based on the highlights we've seen thus far.
All three of Wilson, Vander Plas and McDay aren't coming back next year. The odds are sooo low.
It would shock me if all three of the guys you mention above in "bench not running" return. Guys want to play. They aren't, and there are four frosh coming that will take at least two spots that get major PT. I'm not sure which two will be those guys, but this class is going to have a couple guys that come in right away and play a fair bit.
I like it. I was a "Saul apologist", but he and his staff weren't able to create this kind of competition for PT. Boals and his group are creating competition, and it shows on the court when the 7th, 8th, 9th guys come in and contribute. I'd rather lose good players to transfer because of competition than any other reason. That's kind of what we're starting to see.
