Most of those offers are at least a year old. Something happened. Only Ohio and New Mexico St. have offered in 2022.

Personal life sidenote - Maki's older sister Mychal played at Notre Dame and has 2 kids with GS Warrior Andrew Wiggins (Huntington Prep alum). Maki's other older sister Mychelle played at Marshall and has 2 kids with Charlotte Hornet Miles Bridges (Huntington Prep alum). Mychelle recently came out with domestic abuse charges against Bridges.

He appears to be a sharp shooter. Not sure what could've happened to cause him to lose those big time offers. He finished the junior season healthy and strong.

Very interesting, that in 2020 and 2021, this young man was heavily written about. In 2022, there is basically no news on him or the process.

Has anyone gotten to the bottom of this? Something had to have happened for us to even be speaking to him given the high major offers he had last year. This is why BA needs an investigative journalist on staff!

Per Huntington Prep's twitter, he scored 3 points in an exhibition win over Shawnee State about a week ago.

One thing I noticed is he hasn't really grown at all since the first news of him being recruited a couple years ago. Possible the bigger schools thought he was gonna hit a bigger growth spurt? Maybe? He's kind of a tweener if someone is looking for a taller PG, but I don't see the handles on him to make him a PG. You would think 6'4" would be a perfect SG height (for Ohio it definitely is). I don't know this is weird.

June 2021, the Sports Illustrated Louisville Fan site called him "the top prospect in the state of West Virginia."

Elite Shooter...Can Dial from Deep...out to 25 ft. Not great handle. True SG. Had 17 through 3...5 3's.

See if you can find out from anyone why he went from high majors to mid-majors for no apparent reason.
