Slightly related, I've noticed a few gray hairs when I look in the mirror.

Was it Teyvion Kirk who had a close personal relationship with Fears Sr?

Not actually related but TK considered him an uncle. They lived in the same neighborhood.

Every time I get my hair cut, they start poking through more and more. But I've been told the ladies appreciate the "salt and pepper" look.

I hope Junior likes backflips.

When you click on this headline, the opening riff to "The Sound of Silence" starts playing.

And because we're gluttons for punishment, the beginning of the end of Jeremy Fears' tenure in Athens.

Saw that Fears is now ranked 23rd in his class.

By the way, while this makes everybody feel old, a little context: I remember watching the OU-UK game in Athens over a winter break. A couple of weeks earlier, remember watching the 'Lazy Sunday' video for the first time live on SNL.

Lazy Sunday is widely credited as being one of the first viral videos ever on YouTube.

So while it doesn't feel that long ago, it was also right around the time people started being able to share videos on the internet. So, you know, also a very long time ago.

Damn. Would have been amazing to have Fears Part 2. Shab, just watched that game in full and we should have won that thing! Fears Sr. must have been a highlight reel type player then.

What you saw in that clip was normal for Fears Sr. when he was truly on, as he often was. Hyper athletic point guard that could get downhill with ease. He and Sonny Troutman together got a lot of pick-6 style dunks. However, nowhere near good enough from three for the volume he took and in this game, he had a lot of turnovers. I remember being very very nervous in this game in particular with the ball in his hands.

Journalist Ray Mernagh had a book that chronicled the 05-06 MAC season and said Fears was giddy about how well he defended Rondo following the loss to UK. There was a quote in the book from former Ohio assistant John Rhodes that was essentially said about Fears "It's his skills that got him here, but it's also what got him *here*."

Another thing about him being "hyper athletic" - sometimes after a monster dunk or big team run causing the other team to call a timeout Fears Sr would do a backflip walking to the bench.

DAMN!! Imagine that happening today - that man would be a campus meme on social media.
