Figured I'd start his own thread on the recruiting page.

Generally not high on these multiple transfer guys, but maybe he'll be an exception.

Does anyone else see a little bit of Jason Prestion in this kid? Specifically, when he's taking the his man off the dribble and into the paint?

His stats and play at Wofford are impressive as a freshman.

He obviously didn't get the PT he thought/wanted at Iowa St.

He looks like a good player, but I'm with Lurker - 3rd school in 3 years has my warning bells going off.

Chances he's back in the portal 11 months from now? High.

Or chances 11 months from now...he's Jaylin Hunter....and comes back for one more. At this point, I treat every player...whether a portal guy or recruited out of HS...as one year players. The NCAA has put this idiotic system in place and allowed it to happen. For the record, this portal add of Jackson has me excited. Even more so then when we signed Hunter and he turned out to be pretty good.

I understand the hesitation with the 3 schools in 3 years, but you can at least follow the path a bit on this one and see how the MAC could be his appropriate destination. He did really well as a freshman at Wofford, then may have taken a bit too far of a step to Iowa St, so he lands at Ohio. I think the only way he would transfer after his Junor year is if he didn't get play time (very unlikely) or absolutely blew up to MAC POY levels, in which case I will take it.

I agree. If a player drifts “from mid to mid to mid” I’d tend to be much more wary. On the surface, at least, this situation seems like a reasonable path that a player who wants to maximize their potential might pursue. Time will tell us.

I thought this as well. the one-handed floaters, use of the body and creativity/hesitation when it comes to scoring over bigger defenders was certainly reminiscent of JP.

On a side note. Highlight tapes should be taken with a gallon of salt. They only show the shots that go in.

I think this is a reasonable path of transferring. It make sense. I basically agree with Fear that we now have to look at all players as one year players now.

Jackson is an excellent acquisition for Ohio! Welcome to Bobcat Nation!

Yeah for sure…..also highlights don’t show much of his passing ability which is excellent.

Call me crazy but I’m an old
school guy and he reminds me of Pistol
Pete Maravich.

Five and a half assists a game for a shooting guard is pretty good, especially back then.
