You sure Bruce?  I know he had offers from at least us and Michigan St.  Ashland would seem to be a pretty odd verbal.  I'm not doubting your information, just seems a little wild that he would have an offer from one of the best bball schools in the country in MSU and end up at Ashland.

Very suprised to hear this as well. I'll have to put a message out to my IVC dwellers and see if they know anything about this kid. I think Ohio State was recruiting him as well, which is where his dad played ball if I'm not mistaken.

Well, random Google searching got me this:

"Sometimes a kid goes where he fits best."

Ashland must be a pretty darn good fit to turn down a few Division I offers.

Those offers all came pretty early last season for Honigford.  It is quite possible that they were no longer on the table when he committed to Ashland.

After watching him in the Convo during the tournaments, I am not that surprised.

OTOH, Ashland and the GLIAC isn't exactly the dregs of basketball.

I thought about that too Flomo, or he was downgraded after a subpar season. ESPN had him an 88 at one point.

He had teams from major conferences looking at him because he had size at a younger age. The skill set obviously never caught up.
