Taylor not listed in box score of last night's easy win for Gahanna in this morning's Dispatch. Anyone know why?

Thanks, Bball Jones. Looking forward to Gahanna's visit to an ever-improving Newark in a couple of weeks.

Haven't seen Gahanna yet this year, but I know Stevie didn't have any bigs playing with him last year and I don't believe he does this winter. However, do you know of any 6-9 or so impact players Stevie ran with on his AAU team? I would think a big forward/center who has benefited from playing with Stevie would love to continue that connection for four years in college. I can't see the Ohio program taking the next step without adding a couple of 6-9 or taller players who can mix it up inside.

That experience will come in handy, as he won't next winter, either.

HItting 44% on threes and 84% at the line this season. If I remember right, I think he shot around 50% from threes last year.

Went over to Groveport to watch Stevie play tonight. Hadn't seen him play in person since his first or second HS season. Gahanna pretty much rolled over Groveport Madison, so Taylor wasn't really challenged much, and actually sat most of the second half.

But he really is quick, and will really help the Cats raise the tempo come next season. Really quick. He also has that DJ-like vision to see where the ball needs to go and pass it there for easy buckets. Unfortunately this night, some of his teammates were having trouble handling the passes, and good passes didn't always get turned into points. But he should be a great distributor come next season. I'll leave the technical breakdown to jdrake.

Sidenote, as we were walking in the gym, Gahanna was about to take the floor. Stevie saw the Ohio gear and was shouting "OU" as we were walking in. Seemed very excited to be becoming a Bobcat. Gotta love that.

Good stuff!  Tricia and I are probably going to stop by in 2 weeks when they host Pickerington Central on the 28th, if anyone else in the Columbus area wants to meet up, let me know!

BBall Jones, what's the story about Stevie getting T'ed up the night before in Newark?

Actually had a nice game, scoring 17 of Gahanna's first 21 points and ending with 23 in a low scoring game.

The game was getting chippy for most of the game.  Then the kid elbowed Stevie a play before, so when Stevie hit a shot and showed some emotion, they called a double tech to get the game under control. Newark is a tough environment and the kids play rough.

"Chippy" - that's the exact word I used at about that juncture in the game and my wife looked at me puzzled, not knowing what I meant by "chippy."

Looked like some of the Newark fans in the front row behind the basket were trying to get inside Stevie's head in the second half and that Stevie was having some fun with them. Stevie and Roberson (I think that's his name) applying pressure on the Newark ballhandlers was the difference in the game. They didn't allow Christian Keller, who has emerged as a pretty good point guard this year, to get Newark into its offense, and Keller had little help bringing the ball up the court.

Stevie Taylor needs just 5 points tonight to become Gahanna Lincolns all time leading scorer, a record that was set back in 1960 I believe,  Good Luck tonight Stevie from BOBCAT NATION ! !

Ben, from what I've seen of Taylor, his talents will be wasted if he isn't part of a system that gets the ball out and runs with it, presses fullcourt, and adds some studs inside to go with Taylor, Coop, Kellogg, Rico, TJ, Ivo, etc. . .

Stevie's gahanna lincoln team finishes 19-1, 8th ranked in the state.  stevie averaged 16.5 pts and shot 41.2% from behind the arc.

also, congrats to former bobcat sonny johnson.  his garfield heights team finished the regular season undefeated and ranked number 1 in the state.

Taylor's Gahanna team steamrolling thus far. Doubled up Columbus West 80-36 or something close to that.

Next game is March 5th.

Channel 4 Columbus reported that Taylor scored all of his teams points in the overtime victory and a short video of him driving on the basket.

Also, for those with TWC Columbus, the game will be replayed today on channel 24, and I assume to be put on the On Demand channel for those that have the On Demand stuff.
