Per TheRecruitScoop, Hardin, a senior, is "involved with" Ohio, Northeastern and Wright State.  Here is a profile...

Not rated by any service I can find.  I'm sure he can play but a 6'-0" tall guard with only dunk highlights just doesn't do it for me.

Maybe he flew completely under the radar but in this day and age that isn't easy to do so it makes me nervous.

Not really what I expected for the 1st recruit linked to the Bobcats post Groce.

Yeah....I hear ya.

Lately I've been doin some "whistlin past the graveyard stuff".  Christian seems to be a good x's and o's guy.....not sure that getting this player convinces me that he's a great recruiter......good recruiters are OK but great recruiters like Groce get ya to the big dance.

Geez, guys...go to our basketball recruiting page and you will find literally dozens of recruits who were "mentioned" as having received interest from Coach Groce and his staff.  There are always many rumors out there about who is being looked at; you also have to consider level of interest.

IMO, you are jumping to conclusions in your reactions which are not warranted at this time.  I'm going to wait to see who we actually get verbals from and who we sign.

Yeah....me too.....but you're kinda like a kid at Christmas......the anticipation kills ya...but hopefully once we sign a guy or 2 we can relax.

The problem is, who are we going to sign? Are there any three-star players out there that will come for only a few minutes a game next year? And if you bring in too high of a player, that upsets the core that returns. A JC player is probably out for the same reason.

In my opinion, you probably either add 1.) a guy like Hardin, who might be pretty much like we originally thought Caris was going to be, someone who would need a year to develop or 2.) a transfer who would have to sit out a year anyway. I think you could bring in a frontline player without upsetting the core too much, as those guys sometimes have to develop anyway.

Anyway, about Hardin, he apparently had a good senior season. I also think there's a HS teammate of his that was a Duquesne commit.

Just looking at Christian's last few classes at TCU does not make me feel that great about his recruiting abilities. I see lots of JUCOs and average mid-major backups. Please feel free to correct me if my assumptions are unfounded.

Not to be a Danny Downer on recruits....but I see that 2014 commit Anthony Allen is on a juco roster but had no stats last year.  What's that all about?

He redshirted last year and that was always a part of the plan.  Can't believe he'd still be in the mix for us going forward though.

I agree with what the others here are saying as obviously it only matters who signs and shows up.  My disappointment was only because it was literally the 1st name linked to OHIO with Christian at the helm.  All others listed were before his arrival.  I certainly don't want to paint his entire recruiting ability on speaking to one player.  Talking to many players of varying talent levels is definitely a part of the process.

My preference at this point is we either do not use the scholarships this year or we take on a transfer who has to sit and learn for a year without any chance of upsetting the apple cart.

Still would love for LeVert to come back to the Bobcats but that looks less likely every day.

Hard to not like the Mountain West Freshman of the Year in Kyan Anderson. The Sixth Man of the Year was sophomore Amric Fields. I would say those were pretty good recruits.  And don't be surprised if some of his recruits wind up considering OU.
