Ohio has offered a scholarship to 2012 shooting guard prospect Geovonnie McKnight from Middletown High School. The 6-3, 180-pounder also has offers from Ball St., Kent St. and Miami (OH).

Miami might have an inside track here with two former Middies on the roster (Allen Roberts and Bill Edwards, transfer from Penn State). Also, Middletown's new head coach, Josh Andrews (former coach at Princeton) has a pretty good relationship with Jermaine Henderson and Grunkenmeyer. We still have some pull though...Josh was Marquis Horne's coach at Princeton.

It'd be nice to see a Middletown kid come to Ohio. I also think he's getting offers for football as well.

If anyone is interested in watching game film on Geovonnie, tvmiddletown.blip.tv archives most of the home games.

He reminds me of Jeremy Fears in his style of play. Our top priority should be a legit big body player (if he can play the transition game well, that Bergantino kid from Florida would be a nice prospect) but if we happen to lose a guy, I would be happy with McKnight.
