According to Ryan Autullo from the Toledo Blade, Ohio has offered a scholarship to 2013 Napoleon High School shooting guard Jordan Lauf. The 6-3, 190-pounder also has offers from Toledo, BG and Western Michigan.

Hard to get a good take from the video. Largely because the level of competition looks so bad. Looks like he knows how to use his body well, against some pretty poor defense. Looks like he can shoot, but, I don't think he "called" all that glass...........

Maybe it was just the jersey number, but I think I just watched Steve Esterkamp's video.

I do like a shooter who can go baseline.  He seemed to have a good handle on the ball while doing it, really likes to keep it on his hip.

I trust our staff has seen him against AAU competition and the offer isn't just based on this video against some smaller  opponents.

He better grow about 3 inches to be Steve Esterkamp.  I was thinking more like Gus Johnson with a bit more athletic ability.

I see the offers, but this kid is NOT a D1 basketball player.

No offense to him.

Maybe his four offers are based on summer basketball performance.

This whole thread is depressing, mostly because Jordan's dad was my optometrist and I remember when he was born.

That having been said, I believe he's the first Napoleon basketball player to get a D-I scholarship since Tim Reiser.

Napoleon used to be a dominant high school program in Ohio, right Tim?

I remember Tim Reiser well.

The Wildcats are always good. Napoleon always has competed against larger schools in the conferences it has played in and still has won a number of championships, including last year.

Back in the lettered days, we won the 1981 AA state championship and had a long regional rivalry with Willard. I think I still have the radio aircheck tapes of those bitter battles of my pops and Mike Reghi on the call.
