In the portal, got to believe he would be a fit for what we need.

Stony Brook offered him back in 2017 when Boals was still coaching there. VC lists him as a SG - think he could shift to PG?

Don't know if this means anything but Boals is currently following Curbelo, Toussaint and Illinois transfer Omar Payne on Instagram currently. Does not follow Clarke, Newton, Ramey or Odukale.

I love Curbello’s game, he does everything well and he has a good basketball IQ. If he wants big minutes and wants to lead a team, Ohio could be the place for him.

I do too. He'd help us tremendously at the PG position. He did have some injury issues at Illinois though.

Umm...this guy was a disaster in the NCAA Tournament. Before the Houston game, he was arguing with the refs in warmups. He hardly saw the floor against Houston and I believe his 3 point % this past season was lower than Brod which is hard to believe since not many D1 players in the country had a lower 3 point % than Brod.

Did not know about the ref situation. And just glanced at his stats. ABYSMAL three point pct at 0.176%. 32% from the field. 74% free throw pct. 7.5 points per game. Maybe not such a good idea for him to come here but who knows, he might fare better against mid major competition.

One Ohio didn't get: Philip Alston of California (PA). Chose Loyola Chicago over Pittsburgh and Ohio.

Gianni Hunt, Oregon State, has interest from Ohio along with Iona and Charlotte, plus a bunch of other schools out west.

Correct me if I'm wrong but our interest list is this:

SO PG Joe Toussaint, Iowa - To West Virginia
FR PG Andre Curbelo, Illinois - To St John's
SO SG Tristen Newton, East Carolina - To UConn

JR PG Aaron Clarke, Sacred Heart
FR SG Femi Odukale, Pittsburgh
RS-JR SG Saquan Singleton, New Mexico
JR PG Courtney Ramey, Texas
JR SF Sekou Sylla, Nova Southeastern
SO PG Gianni Hunt, Oregon State
FR C Gabe Wiznitzer, Louisville
FR G Jordan Nesbitt, St Louis

I dont think these can all be called "offers" for sure. Ohio's name has been linked to them on social media as showing interest.

Based on this list, I really have no idea which of the following scenario(s) are true:

1) One or more of our guys currently in the portal will return to Ohio.
2) We feel good about landing a JUCO or high school prospect front court player.
3) We're going to just roll with Wilson, Clayton, Ezuma as our bigs and maybe Hadaway gets into the rotation as a stretch forward.

Wilson/Clayton/Ezuma could be a dynamic trio next year but that just isn't enough depth at all. We could really use another Dwight Wilson in the portal to really shore up our post next year.

All of the reporting on the portal from Twitter is on D1 guys, but we also need to go grab another D2 guy like Schmock who takes care of the ball and hits 40% from 3.

Actually, with how well Schmock played last year lets become a school that recruits a dream team of D2 grad transfers every year. Would be fun.

Similar statlines for both guys this past year. Both were around 10ppg and about 35% from 3.

Sarju is a Hargrave guy. Played two years at VMI before transferring to Cornell. Experienced player. I believe he is 24 years old.

Felix is a native of Sweeden. Played for Fairfield one year before transferring to Omaha.

With DW3 back along with some very intriguing young bucks and experience in Miles and BRod, we really don't need a 20 ppg dude coming in. What we truly need is a point guard who can score but is more than happy to facilitate and distribute (drive and kick in particular). If we have two spots (I'm still not sure on the Frazier/Estis/McDay schollies) then we HAVE to have an Ali Ali type guy. Right now we have some length with Ezuma, Clayton and Adelodun that can play inside or at a 3/4 but we don't have that 6-7 defender who can post up and hit an occasional outside shot.

+1. I'm also interested to see if Granger will reconsider coming back if BVP ultimately leaves.
