With announcement that David Bell of Garfield Heights had committed to OSU, I saw at least one service note that he had been offered by Ohio. I was very pleased to hear this, not because of the kid, but because it means JC and company are establishing a relationship with his coach, former Bobcat Sonny Johnson. If he is not already, Johnson is fast becoming 1 of the most influential coaches in NE Ohio, with connections to kids all over the area, not just in Garfield Heights. For whatever reason, Bobcat coaches recently haven't come up with much out of NEO, and that needs to change. From everything I've heard there is a boatload of talent coming up in the Cleveland area, and we need to get our share. Strong relations with Coach Johnson can be nothing but helpful toward that end....

JC recruited Sonny's brother, Demetrius, to Kent over offers from most of the MAC. He did transfer to IPFW, however, I am not sure why.

Cleveland is really good at overrating its talent. Not there aren't some players coming out of there, but Columbus and Cincy tend to produce the better college ballers.

Agree about Cleveland...in just about every sport.
