I feel like it's Christmas Eve and I'm waiting to see what the gifts are. I'm excited to see what happens. This guy is a real optimist

Just to be clear, it looks like the "four kids in for visits in the next four days" and "[roster will grow] by at least three" comments could have been from slightly different contexts.  I'm not sure there was any intent to imply that he expects to sign three of the four visiting this weekend.  He might have meant that, but it is hard to tell without more to the quotes.

Also 6'5" small forward Ryan Taylor.....good chance of landing him if Michigone is out of schollies.

Some of the transfers have 3 years left so it's possible Saul prefers them over jukes.

This is a name I'm VERY intrigued about.  He and Jaaron Simmons as a transfer PG.

Obviously, I should have been clearer in my post.  I knew there was one name out there.  I was looking for the other three

If a recruit comes on Saturday, they will get to see what the Convo looks like sold out--twice!

Could it be a last ditch effort to get Owens?

Arkley tweeted mentioning potentially 2 incoming transfers, one of which is a grad student. I would love a grad student who could play immediately.

Who is the 4th?

That's a lot of guys who are basically 6-4 or 6-5 SG/SFs. But I suppose the only one the team has right now is Harley. It would still be nice to get a wing player who has some experience and can play right away either as a JUCO or an immediately-eligible transfer.

I know of a 6'5" G/F with lots of experience that just graduated, his senior season was cut short by a broken leg. Anyone know if Ric has gotten a final ruling from the NCAA about a 5th year?

I saw him tweet this week that he still had not heard anything from the NCAA. FWIW, he did graduate yesterday.

Anyone know if the NCAA has ever granted a case like this? Like myself, Rico seems like a pretty optimistic guy. I would love to see him get another shot at it and it would be beyond huge for this team next year.

Looks like Houston transfer Jaaron Simmons was the 4th visit scheduled. We had 6 open spots for next year and 3 have commitments.

'14 commits
PG 6'1" Jaaron Simmons (sophomore transfer, red shirt '14-'15 season)
SG 6'4" Kendall Crute
SG 6'4" Mike Laster

these are the known possibilities for the 3 remaining scholarships-
PG 6'0" Keith Shamburger (Hawai'i graduate, senior transfer, can play immediately)
SG 6'4" Jordan Perez (only other offer is Pan-American)
G/F 6'5" Ryan Taylor (Michigan is first choice, they've shown interest but no offer yet)
G/F 6'5" Ric Johnson (appealing 5th year w/NCAA)

latest Arkley article says that SP is leaning towards keeping 2 scholarships open in '14-'15. If that's the case then we just have one more to give so it looks like its going to be an either/or scenario between Ryan Taylor and Jordan Perez. Taylor visited over the weekend and Perez was on campus on Monday.

Shamburger and Ric (if he gets a 5th year)would still be options as seniors with only 1 yr of eligibility left each that wouldn't effect '15.

Looking ahead, if we add 1 more to the freshman class the scholarship distribution would like this next year-

3- Seniors
1- Junior
4- Sophomores
3- Freshmen
2- open

That would leave us with 5 scholarships to give for the '15 class and plenty of time for SP and company to recruit.

I don't know anything about what goes on during recruiting weekends other than the references to meeting other recruits, going to some other sport activities, viewing the facilities, etc.
Do they actually play some ball while they're here? I would imagine so, but don't know that for sure. So, do they?
