Third-leading scorer on NJCAA national champ team. Looks long and creative on offense. Averaged 36 points per 40 minutes played. Also tripped to Bradley.

This appears to be a great pick-up for us!  Accomplishes a few things:

1. Balances out our classes a little - Setty was the only Class of '16 scholarship.  Now have two in that class.
2. Provides a replacement for Hall/Johnson going into next year.  However, it appears he is versatile and could be used as a replacement for Wilkins/Kellogg
3. Adds even more to our length and athletcism

Size and length will not be a problem for us.  However, most of our misses have come on guard play.  We need to add a SG/PG or both to this class now.  Otherwise our depth at guard will be a huge issue in 2014-2015.

I feel like it may already be an issue in 2013-2014.  I feel good about Willis, Kellogg and Johnson as starters.  Stevie has obviously shown he can handle the backup PG duties, but I don't feel comfortabl with Wilkins and we do not have any other attacking guards.  Anrio had me feeling good, but I am very concerned after his departure.

Brand Winton from JucoRecruitng.com says he "should be an impact guy right away".

Here's his ESPN write up from a couple years ago when he was in High School:

Strengths:
Wigginton is a high level athlete who gets his head on the rim with bouncy athleticism. He is a tremendous finisher going to the basket as he not only features the bounce to get above the defense but also the body control to elude people in mid-air. He is at his best in the open floor, where he is very smooth going north to south, and unstoppable when able to get close enough to elevate. Physically, he has good size and an already strong frame with plenty of room to support additional muscle mass.

Weaknesses:
Wigginton's skill set is a work in progress as he tends to shoot a flat ball from the perimeter and isn't more than a one or two dribble player at this point. His jumper has improved consistently within the last year and is fine mechanically other than his low trajectory, so he could be a good shooter in time. He also needs to learn to play hard consistently on both ends of the floor as he has a motor that has been inconsistent over the years.

Bottom Line:
Wigginton has undeniable talent with physical tools that just can't be taught, but he is still a few years away from putting all the pieces together as he is still raw and in the very early stages of his development.

That ESPN description reminds me of Chris Evans from Kent.  Not typically a fan or the JUCO route, but there are cases where it is necessary and as mentioned above balancing the class and having someone available to step in right away next year and contribute is huge.

I would still like to see a PG and SG in this same recruiting class.

Seems like a good get. I am happy we grabbed a JUCO, really balances the classes. JC hit on some talented JUCO's at Kent.

Same general area-ish where Tariq transferred to, right?g

Wiggington's team plays again online tonight, just in case nothing else is on TV.  All games seem to be archived on the site, just in case you are a tremendous dork like me and want to watch some JUCO basketball.

Other than Bradley, does anyone know what other schools may have offered Rodell?  It's nice to beat an MVC school for a recruit.

Through 6 games, averaging 22 ppg.  Scored 17 in last effort, but it was an easy win and R played only 21 mins...
