His father played at OSU in the early 90's. Nick Kellogg scored 27 points Saturday.

Hope he enjoyed the atmosphere in the Convo Saturday!!!

I will posit that part of this experience (the young man's experience at the game yesterday) is widecast video (TV/webcast)...being live as part of a large crowd for an exciting event--and knowing that experience is being shared by being watched on tv and webcast available everywhere on earth.

Specifically, 10,000 some folks gettin' "OU / OH YEAH!" crazy in The Convo for a comebacker vs. redhawk is both an excellent shared (social!) experience for those at the game and for those of us who watched via webcast.  Same with the terrific OT win vs. Toledo.

This is what builds a excitement about a program.  Which builds a program.  Which builds excitement about a program,  Etc, etc.

I like what happening.

1)  thank goodness for the stroke of luck that gave us a 13k arena.
2) putting to further death the 'plaints of those who complain about midweek MACtion football games with their bigtime vidcast exposure
3) about 12-15 yrs ago, living in CA I rarely saw Bobcat sports.  Now I can see scores and scores of foot, basket, VB, etc every year.

Stroke of luck = Vernon Alden.

Someone here has to tell the story of President Alden's promise to host large entertainment events at the Convo. Many thought it was impossible in Athens. Alden was steadfast that the Convo had more uses than just athletics, There is a story that Alden vowed to drive Diana Ross onto the condo floor in a Mustang convertible for her performance (which may have been the first non-basketball event in the new building). Can someone fill in the details please?

Pops played for Middletown :)

But I'm unsure if there is/was a move involved.

well that explains a lot. If pops played for the middies I am sure. like Muncie Central, the kid grew up wanting to be in that Uni.So much tradition in your blood when you are born into that lineage.
