I'm a little confused about whether or not to expect more scholarship signings announced after the May 18 deadline. There were rumors that various players on the team were going to quit or transfer, but I haven't heard anything definitive. Can someone bring me up to date on what to expect. Thanks.

Here's the LOI signing date schedule for your general information:

I'm curious to see other responses to this from people who are more "in the know".

Personally, I had a player or two who I have said wouldn't surprise me if they chose to leave based on where they could fall on the depth chart, but I've never heard substantial discussion about anyone specific leaving. I'm hopeful that no player leaves. I think we're looking at some really nice squad depth for a few years to come.

If someone should choose to leave, I would assume that Saul & staff would hold any scholly for next year for a little balance in classes.

I think everybody's staying and the roster we have now is THE roster for next year.

Also THE roster for really the next two years, which is a great thing. Next year will be the first with continuity for a couple seasons.

Thomas is transferring and somehow will have a chance to play for 4 different Division I schools. But his scholarship is accounted for, so there are no open spots.

I'm not sure about that. If you include Thomas, I count 14 scholarship players. My memory says 14 scholarships are available. I'd guess that Gollon actually took what was in theory his scholly.

I'm ready for the hoops season to begin. I'm excited to see the 7 "newbies". I'm pushing the Mrs to consider trip to USVI.

OK, thanks to all. I think that my question has been answered. Sit tight with what we got. All scholarships taken and players accounted for, unless of course someone leaves unexpectedly and one opens up, which is possible but not likely. Go OHIO!

With Thomas officially transferring, the numbers now make sense. For 2016 we only have one spot (as of now) with that being Treg's???

I would assume because of PT, and in an effort to balance classes a little, that at least one of the 5 freshmen will probably redshirt this coming year.

I guess I knew we only have one true pg in the program, but after looking at the recruiting grid again I was reminded that we only have ONE pg in the program?!?! Good chance that's where the scholly for next year will be going.

So the widely speculated transfer of Mompremier is now considered to have been based on little actual fact? Personally, I thought that I saw considerable improvement in him from year 1 to year 2, especially early in the season. If he continues to improve I think he can give us some quality minutes this season.

A couple of the basketball players moved into the house across the street from me and Wadly is one of them.

I agree. I especially think he can be a factor on the defensive end.

Agreed. None of the other bigs on this roster have the length that Wadly has. He was much improved last season. Hoping for similar improvement this year.
